A total of 24 married couples will be honored at the festival.

The Day of Family, Love and Fidelity has been celebrated in Russia since 2008, it coincides with the day of veneration of Orthodox saints Peter and Fevronia. The Murom prince Davyd Yuryevich (in monasticism - Peter) and his wife Euphrosyne - Fevronia, who lived around the 13th century, are revered for their loyalty to each other. July 8th is considered an alternative to Western Valentine's Day, which is celebrated on February 14th.

On this day, the city is traditionally decorated with cards with daisies - a symbol of family unity, and many lovers choose dates close to the holiday to get married. Over the past five years, more than three thousand couples have celebrated their weddings. On the pre-holiday days, July 5 and 6, 1,300 couples will get married.

In addition, this year, on July 8, wedding ceremonies will be held in Moscow for the first time, despite the day off for registry offices. Over the ten years of its existence - Family Day of Love and Loyalty has been celebrated at the state level since 2008 - the holiday has become one of the favorite summer holidays of Russians. The date of the holiday was not chosen by chance - on July 8, the Russian Orthodox Church celebrates the day of remembrance of Saints Peter and Fevronia, who from ancient times were considered patrons of family and marriage in Rus'.

From 14.00 to 21.00, guests of the holiday will enjoy an extensive concert and entertainment program.

The festival will be presented with a festive concert on a large open-air stage. In the Russian Federation, for three years in a row, a wonderful holiday has been held - the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity. It was on July 8 that among Orthodox Christians, the holy saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom became the personification of marital love and fidelity in Russian culture. On this day, more than 100 large ritual programs with a solemn and festive part, as well as concerts and folklore performances, competitions and excursions take place in Moscow and the capital's districts.

Thanks to Prince Murom and his wife, the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity is celebrated throughout Russia. They lived back in the 13th century. Peter and Fevronia thus became the standard of strong family relationships even during their lifetime. The holiday itself began to be celebrated on July 8 in 2008.

While Prince Peter was on the throne, he fell ill and was near death. In one of his dreams, he saw an ordinary peasant woman Fevronia. The ruler made a promise to the girl: if she cures him, he will take her as his wife. Fevronia did what she promised and cured the prince, but he deceived her due to his position in society. Not much time later, Peter fell ill again and already knew who could help him. But this time Peter kept his promise. As a result, they ruled happily together and lived in perfect harmony. Peter and Fevronia also died on the same day, July 8th.

Today it is known that many couples in relationships or marriages really want to live like the prince and his wife, which is why they turn to these Saints.

It is this young holiday that shows people how to learn even more to protect their family, give love and remain faithful to their soulmate. It is precisely the preservation of these feelings that the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity teaches, so that everyone can carry them throughout their lives.
