The park was founded in 1934 in order to preserve the beautiful waterfalls on the Iguazu River among the greenery of the jungle. Iguazu occupies an area of 67 thousand hectares, beautifully located along the river of the same name and includes about two hundred and seventy waterfalls. The largest waterfall in Iguazu Park is called "Devil's Throat", which is the border between Agentina and Brazil.
The waterfalls of the park are separated from each other by numerous islands, which are connected by bridges with a total length of about 2 km.
