OGE tests oral part Russian language. Fipi presented a draft of the oral part of the Russian language exam. Preparation for the oral and written OGE in the Russian language

The Russian language exam will remain a mandatory subject for the OGE 2019, which means that future graduates should start preparing for the tests today and find out what innovations FIPI is preparing and what requirements are imposed on the work of ninth-graders.

Exam format in 2019

In the 2018-2019 academic year, Russian language will be taken in 9th grade in two stages:

  • interview (oral part);
  • written part.

In 2018, there was a pilot launch of the interview, so its results did not affect admission to the main exams, but in the future (possibly in 2019) the oral part will be a kind of admission to the written exam in the Russian language.

Interview

In the 2017-2018 academic year, on April 13 and 16, the oral part was successfully tested and already in 2019 it will be a mandatory part of the exam for all regions of the Russian Federation. Although there was a lot of talk at the stage of introducing the oral part of the OGE, the exam itself turned out to be not difficult for students, because the examinee is given only 4 tasks:

  1. Read the text expressively.
  2. Retell what you read with integration of quotes.
  3. Construct a monologue statement based on the proposed plan.
  4. Take part in a dialogue on a chosen topic.

The interview lasts only 15 minutes.

As you can see, there is nothing difficult in the exam itself for a 9th grade graduate. Moreover, the oral exam will not be graded. The result of the interview is assessed on a pass or fail basis.

Written part

In the written part of the main subject of the OGE 2019, FIPI did not announce any changes and students entering the 9th grade will have to take the Russian language in the already familiar format. The CMM includes three parts:

Among the 13 test questions, examinees will encounter two types of tasks:

  • to choose the correct option from those offered;
  • to independently formulate an answer.

In Part III, the student is given the opportunity to choose one of 3 proposed topics.

Assessment of examination papers

Although the interview is not graded on a five-point scale, the student also gains certain test scores as he completes the job.

Important! The student receives the main number of points for observing the norms of the Russian literary language!

The maximum score for the oral part is 17 points, and the minimum passing threshold is 8 points. Thus, the result of the interview is determined according to the table:

Testing the written part involves a more thorough check of the work. The second part (test) is digitized and checked using technical means, and experts (Russian language teachers) are involved in checking parts I and III.

The maximum test score for the written part is 39 points, of which:

For literacy

Important! In the written part, the main criterion is also practical literacy and actual accuracy of speech!

The result of the written exam is included in the certificate and affects the overall grade of the graduate. To interpret the OGE result in the Russian language discipline in 2019, FIPI recommends the following correspondence table:

Schedule of the OGE 2019 in Russian

The draft OGE schedule should appear on the FIPI website closer to the beginning of the academic year, but the approximate periods allocated for the Russian language in 2019 will most likely not change much. As in the last season, 9th grade graduates in all regions of the Russian Federation will take the oral part (as admission to exams) in April.

Three periods are reserved for the written examination:

Retaking the OGE in Russian

The main issue in 2019 remains the weight of the interview result. If in 2018 the result of the oral part did not affect anything, then in 2019 it may be decisive.

Most likely, the opportunity to retake the oral part will be provided. But it is not yet known how and when the interview will be retaken.

If an unsatisfactory result is obtained on a written exam, the ninth grader will receive a second or even a third attempt, but under the following conditions:

  • the student “failed” a total of no more than 2 exams;
  • a negative result is not related to behavior during the exam, identification of cheat sheets or prohibited gadgets;
  • the graduate did not come to the exam for a good reason (there is a supporting document).

If, even after three attempts, a ninth-grader cannot overcome the minimum threshold of 15 points, he will have to take time out for a year, better prepare by studying with tutors, and try to pass the exam in 2020.

Preparation for the OGE 2019

The 2019 OGE tasks, developed by FIPI, are the same for all ninth-graders in the Russian Federation, regardless of their region of residence and the profile of the educational institution. On the one hand, this allows you to realistically assess the level of proficiency in the subject, on the other hand, it presents some difficulty in those regions where, along with Russian, the population actively uses other languages and dialects.

However, it is not difficult to pass the Russian language well if you properly organize your preparation for the exam. Experienced teachers recommend:

  • Familiarize yourself with the main documents of the OGE, which clearly define the assessment criteria.
  • Refresh your memory of theoretical material studied over the years of schooling.
  • Sort out previous years' tickets yourself, together with a teacher, or using video lessons available online.
  • Practice writing essays and presentations.
  • Test your level of knowledge by solving a demo version of the OGE 2019.

Important! In the 2018-2019 academic year, FIPI will offer new topics for essays, which we will inform you about additionally.

In the process of self-preparation, a reference guide to completing the test part will be useful:

Innovations in 2018 regarding the OGE in the Russian language

Good knowledge of oral and written speech is a prerequisite for entry into any college or university in the country, and therefore FIPI insists on modifying the format of the final tests.

Introduction of the oral part

Minister of Education and Science Olga Vasilyeva said that in 2018 all ninth-graders will take the Russian language not only in test format, but also orally, which will allow them to assess their real level of language proficiency.

So, there will be an oral part of the OGE in Russian! What should 9th grade students focus on when preparing for the final certification? The official website of FIPI has all the necessary information about the 2018 OGE, as well as demo versions of tasks that will help you prepare and pass the Russian language well.

For the “Speaking” section, the oral part of the exam will consist of 4 tasks, for which each examinee will be given 15 minutes to complete (including preparation).

  • Part 1 – expressive reading of the text out loud.
  • Part 2 – retelling the text read using quotes.
  • Part 3 – a monologue on a chosen topic based on a plan.
  • Part 4 – dialogue with the examiner.

An audio recording will be made during the exam.

Written part of the OGE in Russian

The introduction of the oral part will not entail a reduction in written tasks. As in 2017, when taking the OGE, students are expected to complete three types of tasks:

  1. Brief summary of the text read.
  2. Questions with short answer (number, letter, word).
  3. A detailed and reasoned answer to the question posed in the ticket.

Assessing the OGE in Russian and interpreting the results

There will be no mark for speaking as such. Although the examinee can score a maximum of 14 primary points, the oral portion will be assessed on a pass/fail basis. To successfully pass the test, ninth-graders will only need to overcome the minimum threshold of 8 primary points.

The written part can be awarded a maximum of 39 points. In this case, the table for converting the primary score into a grade is as follows:

Russian language

Please note that it is not only the total number of points that is important, but also what they were awarded for. Thus, a score of “4” is given if, out of a total of 25-33 points scored, at least 4 are awarded for literacy, and a score of “5” is given if the commission gives at least 6 of the points scored for literacy.

Retaking the OGE in Russian

Since the Russian language is the main exam, without successfully passing which a 9th grade graduate will not be able to receive a certificate, the possibility of retaking it is provided.

The official FIPI portal says that a second attempt to pass Russian in 2018 will be given to those who “failed” no more than 2 mandatory OGE exams. To do this, you will need to submit an application for re-examination and appear at the specified test location on one of the reserve dates of the main or additional (autumn) stage.

Preparation for the oral and written OGE in the Russian language

Teachers are unanimous in the opinion that students who have fully mastered the school curriculum will be able to cope with the 2018 OGE tickets without any problems. Psychologists warn that one of the most important factors is self-confidence and the right attitude.

In order to get rid of the fear of the exam, it is enough to review the demo version of the tickets and analyze the tasks of 2017, which in their structure and subject matter will hardly differ from the questions that may appear in the tickets of this season of the OGE.

It will be somewhat more difficult for children in those regions where other languages and dialects are widely used in parallel with Russian. If you feel that your current knowledge may not be enough to obtain a certificate or enter the desired college, it’s time to begin active preparation by self-education or by contacting an experienced tutor.

Erase also video press conference on the issues of the Unified State Exam and the Unified State Exam, which took place on September 5, 2017:

Greetings, my dear readers.

I know that Russian-speaking schoolchildren are terribly afraid of taking oral exams. And the oral part of the OGE in English seems completely impossible (not to mention). But believe me, proper and timely preparation is all you need to ensure you get a perfect score on the test. Therefore, today we will have a complete analysis of the oral part, as well as examples of tasks with answers.

Shall we begin?

What is it and what has changed in recent years

The oral part of the test only takes 6 minutes! But in 6 minutes you have to show everything you can do. You will be tested on everything: your pronunciation and speed of speech, your ability to understand questions and give a quick and clear answer to them, your ability to conduct an unprepared speech for 2 minutes.

Since 2016, the structure of the oral part has changed radically. You will have to cope with not two, but three tasks: you will need to read the text out loud, answer dialogue questions, and also make a monologue based on the picture (and, perhaps, without it this year!). Everything seems completely different from what it was just 6-7 years ago.

What does it consist of and how does it work?

The oral part consists, as I already said, of 3 parts, which in total take 15 minutes, of which 6 minutes go directly to the answer, and the rest to preparation.

  • Part 1 - reading a passage of text.

The task seems easy, right? Especially when you consider that you are given 1.5 minutes to read in advance. And after that - another 2 minutes to read out loud. You must read clearly, understandably, with correct pronunciation of sounds and correct intonation. And you only have 5 chances to make a mistake. After this, the points are reduced (that is, you will receive 1 or 0 points from 2 possible!).

Let's look at an example(click on the picture to enlarge).

First of all, pay attention to reading long and short sounds. I underlined words with long and short [i] in red.

d i different, l i ved,h i dden, - here the percussive sounds are read as short

p eo ple, bel ie ved, n ee ded, - but here they read like long

I have highlighted in blue the words that have a short and a long [u]

r oo m, t oo ls - the sound here is long

c oul d, p u t - here it is short

I have highlighted in green the words where you can notice the sound [a], but again they will differ in longitude:

d ar k - long sound

h u nters - short sound

A very important point here is the correct pronunciation of interdental sounds (words in the text are underlined in yellow), which children so often like to replace with Russian [v, f] or.

sympa th etic th ey - clamp your tongue between your teeth and go!

In yellow frames I placed phrases in which I want to show differences in intonation. In the first case, we see a special question - and in these types of questions the intonation should be descending, in other words, it should fall. Listen

The second phrase is an introductory construction, which, firstly, must be separated from the rest of the sentence by a pause, and secondly, read with rising intonation. Listen.

Hope you can hear the difference! Observe, my dears, and those evaluating your answer will be very happy to give you the highest score!

  • Part 2 - answers to questions.

The task of this part is a dialogue where you have to answer 6 questions. This part of the test is designed to test how quickly, correctly and competently a student can use foreign speech.

For each answer to a question you can get 1 point each. If you answer too briefly where open answers are required, or make a lot of mistakes, you will not receive your point for the answer.

What I can advise you is to learn a couple of cliches for those answers where you need to express your opinion or give advice. For example:

In my opinion … - In my opinion…

From my point of view…- Cmypointsvision

I reckon … - I think …

I advise … - I advice…

Youd better do ... - You better do...

You should do....You should do...

In addition, it is important to answer clearly, without going into the wilds, and to follow grammatical rules!

So, an example of a task in question-answer format:

How old are you?

I'm 15 years old.

What's your hobby and why are you interested in it?

- My hobby is swimming. I"m interested in it because I adore swimming — it makes me cheerful and confident.

How much time a week do you spend on your hobby?

- As a rule, I spend on it about 4 hours a week.

What hobbies are the most popular with teenagers nowadays?

- From my point of view the most popular hobbies with teenagers now are computer games and some extreme sports like snowboarding.

Why do you think people take up hobbies?

- In my opinion people take up hobbies in order to find new friends, to get some new skills and just to feel happier.

What would you advise a person who wants to start a hobby?

You should find a hobby which will give you pleasure. If I were you I would go to the nearest sports club and find out what they offer...

  • Part 3 - monologue based on the picture.

You will be given 1.5 minutes to prepare this task and 2 minutes to complete it. You will have a picture before your eyes ( but it is needed only for support, and not for description! ), and the questions that need to be answered. This task is difficult, I’ll be honest, but it’s also worth a whole lot. 7 points.

Note: in 2018 it is planned to remove the picture and leave only questions.

Let's see an example:

-Why people like traveling.

-What way of traveling you prefer and why.

-Whether you prefer to be a package tourist or to be a backpacking traveler. Why.

My answer would be:

“And now I am going to talk about travelling.

People may travel for different reasons. For one group of people it may be the chance to spend their vacation at a completely different place from the one they are used to. For others it may be the way of living - their lifestyle.

Personally I prefer sight-seeing type of travelling. As I am keen on history I cannot stand the idea of not visiting all the historical places in Europe or Asia. What is more, I prefer traveling by bus as it allows me to spend a lot of time on the road and think about everything I need. Besides, it is much cheaper than traveling by plane.

According to this I may conclude that I am an absolutely backpacking traveler. The idea that you can spend one day in one city and move to another part of the country the following day appeals to me very much.

In the end I would like to say, that traveling broadens our minds and gives us an amazing experience we will never forget. Besides, you will be left with unforgettable memories. What could be better?"

How to prepare

Preparing for an oral exam is difficult. But finding a trainer for it will not be so difficult. I can recommend you the following helpers:

  • "English language. OGE. Oral part." Author - Radislav Milrud.
  • "OGE-2016. English language". Author - Yu.A. Veselova.
  • Publishing house books MacMillan, dedicated to this exam .

Recently, I have been purchasing most of the manuals and textbooks for myself and my students online. There you can always buy profitably and get it quickly. My favorite stores:

The training tasks in these textbooks are selected specifically for the level, and their number is enough for you to practice. What’s also important is that you can buy them in any bookstore (including online stores).

It’s even easier and, in my opinion, more interesting to use online simulator OGE (GIA) from LinguaLeo. There you can also find other high-quality and really effective English language courses, which I recommend to everyone!

Don’t forget, my dears, that I constantly share new tips on how to improve your English and how to better prepare for the exam. Subscribe to my blog newsletter and be the first to receive information on how to succeed on the test. And if you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the comments!

In the meantime, I say goodbye.

The main state exam characterizes the level of basic knowledge of a student in a particular subject. Compulsory after grade 9 in 2018 is the OGE in Russian language and mathematics. Any 2 more subjects must be chosen by the student himself. It is quite possible that already this year the third exam in a foreign language will become mandatory. The total number of exams after grade 9 is planned to increase to six by 2019. The debate continues, but the formula will probably be this: 3 compulsory disciplines and 3 optional ones.

Oral part of the exam

Most of the controversy was generated by rumors about the introduction of the oral part of the OGE in the Russian language in 2018. However, fears turned out to be premature: in the coming year there will be no such innovation. This is due to the need to solve the problem of children with limited speech therapy capabilities. In addition, it is unclear exactly how to conduct testing: either by speaking on a computer media, or in the process of dialogue with members of the commission.

However, some schoolchildren will still have to take the Russian language orally: in the testing mode, this will be done for students in the Moscow region, Tatarstan and Chechnya. WITH2019 oral part of the State Academic Examination in the Russian languagewill be brought to life. According to representatives of the Ministry of Education, this will eliminate correct answers at random and will show the level of communicative development and the size of the student’s vocabulary by the end of 9th grade. This should have a positive impact on the personal development of the teenager. Assessment will be carried out on a pass or fail basis.

The oral part will include:

  • reading a text fragment out loud;
  • a brief and complete retelling of what you read;
  • monologue on a pre-selected topic;
  • live discussion with the examination committee.

Attention! Each of the 4 parts takes 15 minutes. The student must not only speak competently, but also think quickly and express thoughts succinctly.

Training options:

How is the state final certification carried out?

An important change in the OGE in the Russian language in 2018 will be that the assessment now affects the certificate issued at the end of school. That is, an exam for which 3 hours and 55 minutes is allocated cannot be taken carelessly. Neither if the student intends to continue his studies in college (grades are taken into account during selection), nor when choosing further school education.

The written part consists of three types of tasks: a short answer (number, letter), a detailed answer to a question, and a presentation based on the text. The maximum number of points is 39. The traditional “A” is awarded when passing the exam with a minimum of 34 points. At the same time, literacy is still very important: to get an A, you must score at least 6 points for the absence of errors.

Remember! To overcome the test and continue your studies, you must pass the Russian language exam with at least 8 points.

Subtleties of preparation

Typical versions of GIA tasks in the Russian language in 2018 will hardly change compared to previous periods. They are publicly available on the Internet. According to teachers, to successfully overcome the barrier, it is enough to regularly solve tasks, check the answers received with the correct ones, and monitor your knowledge according to the existing scale. If there are errors, you should consult and, possibly, get additional training from a teacher or tutor.

Immediately before the exam, which begins at 10 o’clock local time, you need to calm down, get a good night’s sleep, and have a hearty breakfast. You are not allowed to bring anything other than a fountain pen and water. Parents need to create a positive emotional background and instill confidence in the child. Regular study, solving demo versions, inner peace, familiarity with innovations on the official website is the key to successfully passing the OGE in Russian in 2018!

Important! The only aid that is allowed to be used in class is a spelling dictionary. The presence of any other items and devices will lead to withdrawal from the exam and a bad mark.

In the final part of the article, we will discuss the last task of the oral part of the OGE and think about how to increase the speed of reading in English.

Monologue with support

You are given 1.5 minutes to prepare, and you need to answer no more two minutes, otherwise the fragment of the task that goes beyond the time interval will not be counted.

You can grab the task 7 points and “it is assessed by three criteria: solution of a communicative task (here it is extremely important to talk in detail about all three aspects mentioned in the task and not ignore the questions why?), organization of a statement (the statement must be logically structured and combined into a single whole using connectives (examples of connectives have already been given in this) , there must be an introductory and final phrase and language design (it is required to demonstrate a varied vocabulary and various grammatical structures corresponding to the A2 (pre-intermediate) language level for the OGE" ().

AND, ATTENTION, If you receive a 0 for a communication task (fail to answer two out of three questions or skip to another topic), the entire task is scored 0 points.

How to prepare for it

There is a list in the codifier topics, which a 9th grade graduate should be able to speak, here it is:

  1. Family relationships
  2. Relationships with friends and at school
  3. Human appearance and characteristics
  4. Leisure and hobbies (sports, music, reading, visiting the theater, cinema, discos, cafes). youth fashion
  5. Purchases. Pocket money
  6. Correspondence
  7. School life. Subjects studied and attitudes towards them. Holidays. School exchanges
  8. Problems of choosing a profession and the role of a foreign language
  9. Country/countries of the language being studied and native country. Their geographical location, climate, population, cities and villages, attractions.
  10. Country/countries of the language being studied and native country. Their cultural features (national holidays, significant dates, traditions, customs)
  11. Outstanding people of their native country and countries of the language being studied, their contribution to science and world culture
  12. Traveling through the countries of the language you are learning and throughout Russia
    Technical progress
  13. Global problems of our time
  14. Mass media (press, television, radio, Internet)
  15. Nature and environmental problems. Healthy lifestyle

You need to study them using any English-language textbook (I like Gateway B1+, New Opportunities: Pre-Intermediate or Solutions: Pre-Intermediate, simultaneously driving into the student’s head stable expressions for communicating on a particular topic. There’s no need to be too zealous here, no more than 10 well-practised phrases are enough. An exam is always stressful, God willing, three expressions from the list will be remembered.

And periodically practice this task (you can use task 1 from last year’s OGE, examples for it are freely available on the Internet in unlimited quantities), placing a stopwatch in front of the student’s eyes with 2 minutes set. After completing the task, it is imperative to force him to reflect on whether he answered all the questions posed, whether the answer included an introduction and conclusion, what thematic expressions and linking words he used.

I repeat once again, your answer should be based on scheme: introduction – answer to four questions in order – conclusion + thematic expressions and linking words.

Example

For clarity, I would like to give an example of how I would answer task 3 of the oral part of the OGE.

Answer:

Now I'm going to give a talk about reading books

  1. In my opinion, reading books is really popular now. Many of my friends and classmates are fond of them, especially they prefer to read romantic novels and detective stories.
  2. Nowadays many people argue if libraries are necessary or not. As for me,they are important because they can teach us about the culture of reading. A librarian is the person who can give teens lectures on how to read a book properly, to enjoy every page of it.
  3. Personally I have recently read “Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins. It’s a real page-turner! It tells us a story of a girl whose name is Katniss Everdeen. She lives in the future in North America. She and 11 other teens are selected by lottery to take part in the Hunger Games, a battle to the death.
  4. In the end I would like to say that reading books is my cup of tea. If I start reading a good book, I simply can’t put it down until I’m done reading it. I can even forget about doing my homework! So, I can say I’m an enthusiastic reader.

That's all what I wanted to say.

And now let's look at the answer.

Communication task: all four questions have been answered.

Organization of the utterance: linking words are present, there are introductory and final phrases (highlighted italics).

Language design: vocabulary - thematic words and expressions are used - romantic novels, detective stories, culture of reading, enjoy every page, be a page-turner, put it down, enthusiastic reader.

Grammar - three tenses are used - Present Simple, Present Perfect, Present Simple Passive, modal verb can, 0 conditional clause (If I start reading a good book, I simply can't put it down until I'm done reading it), gerund (reading books), infinitive (to take part in the Hunger Games).

Reading aloud

At the end of the article I will share the secrets of preparing for first task oral part of the OGE, namely, how to manage to read a fragment of text in the treasured 120 seconds.

Let's say you've mastered the rules of reading, but you still can't fit it into 2 minutes. What to do? Obviously, reprimand the texts. I select them myself (the text must be scientific and journalistic), here is an example:

Computers have been around for over sixty years and they have changed our lives. It is a well-known fact that the first modern computer began operating in the USA in 1945. This huge machine was the size of a large room. It was also very slow and so complicated to use that only an expert could operate it. That’s very different from modern PCs which are so user-friendly that anyone can use them.

During the 1970s, tiny electronic microchips became more common. By the 1980s and 90s, home computers were becoming smaller, faster and cheaper. As a result, more people bought them, so computers became more wide-spread.

(Taken from Activate B1)

And we practice reading out loud like this:

  1. The student reads to himself, thinking about unfamiliar words and where to pause (I give 1.5 minutes, as in the OGE).
  2. He reads aloud, I correct the correctness, then together we analyze the division of the fragment into semantic pauses. I draw the student’s attention to how long it took him to read the text for the first time.
  3. Then comes the penultimate reading, beautiful and correct, where I do not pay attention to speed.
  4. And for the last time, the student must read correctly and complete it in 2 minutes. If this fails, I try to create a feeling of shame and a desire to do better next time.

By the way, reading aloud and speaking are closely related. The faster the speech rate, the better you read aloud. Therefore, it is extremely useful to retell everything that your heart is drawn to - the biography of your favorite singer, the content of an interesting book or TV series.
