The Crystal plant will host the third gathering of collectors. Exhibition “Antiques and Vintage at Crystal”

These days, the legendary plant will again turn into a huge exhibition of strange and rare things from the past. The fair is a unique event in Moscow life, since no one has previously organized such events on such a large scale.

The need to create such a gathering has been brewing for a long time: although there is no shortage of events related to collecting in the capital, many have been waiting for events of this scale. The emphasis is also on frequency: until now, all meetings of collectors have been spot-on and even somewhat spontaneous in nature; Regular holding of meetings opens up new opportunities.

Beginning with the second meeting, special events, educational meetings and individual exhibitions of items from private collections are planned.

One of central events The March meeting will include an exhibition of perfumes with exhibits from the private collection of Irina Vorobyeva. Visitors will be able to see a unique carriage perfume set of the 18th century, as well as amazingly beautiful boudoir bottles of those years, a bottle for cologne from the A. Sioux and Co", released for the centenary Patriotic War 1812, and a rare bottle of Napoleon cologne by Brocard.

In addition, the exhibition will feature bottles of domestic production, which are in no way inferior to the works of outstanding world companies. The heyday of Russian perfumery occurred in late XIX and the beginning of the 20th century, but today information about this is not so easy to find: in Russia there is not a single state museum, dedicated to this important industry, and libraries and archives store very little information about Russian perfumers. Visitors to the second gathering of collectors will have a unique opportunity not only to learn about the masters of their craft, but also their own

see with your own eyes the original bottles, packaging and labels that amaze with their elegant design.

Famous jewelry firms, such as Faberge, were involved in the creation of some bottles. Often you can see the master's signature on the finished product. Prominent artists, such as Ivan Bilibin, were involved in the work on the labels - his works will also be presented at the exhibition. Some bottles were created to order. In demand and gift boxes for perfumes and eau de toilette - made of cardboard or wood, covered with silk or velvet. Sometimes perfume was packaged in small elegant decanters, leather cases and even in Easter eggs made of crystal.

A perfume bottle is not a faceless thing: each of them has its own story, and its design can tell a lot about the time of creation.

Along with the bottles at the exhibition you will be able to see unique labels from the first years Soviet power, as well as authentic hygiene items of that era - soap, soap sticks, tooth powders. In addition, few people will be indifferent to the colognes and perfumes that drove our grandparents crazy and are rightfully considered perfumery masterpieces: “Red Moscow”, “Red Poppy”, “ Queen of Spades", "Silver lily of the valley."

The first all-Russian gathering of collectors was held on February 11-12, 2017 with great success. The fair featured many interesting and rare exhibits, divided by topic: numismatics, philately, faleristics, bonistics, philocarty, second-hand books, vintage jewelry, toys, gramophone records and much more. Participants exhibited a variety of artifacts, from antique porcelain to transport maps, and visitors could not only admire strange things from the past, but also buy something for themselves, or even, inspired by what they saw, become collectors themselves.

One of the organizers of the rally, Valery Arkhipov, tried to interest the youngest visitors to the exhibition: he gave each child who came to the rally a coin, which could later become the beginning of a large collection. According to him, numismatics will always be in demand, regardless of crises.

In addition to private collectors, shops and dealers also gathered at the rally. The price of individual goods could reach up to 150 thousand - as, for example, in the case of porcelain products. However, every guest of the fair could find something to his liking and for much less money: for example, the cost of rare Soviet postcards started at 200 rubles, and a gramophone in working condition could be purchased for 15 thousand.

President of the Union of Philocartists of Russia Arsen Melitonyan believes that the new site could in the near future develop into a multifunctional complex center, where, in addition to fairs, full-fledged museum displays and exhibitions will be held, and special services will also be provided, such as examinations and consultations on storage issues.

Arsen Melitonyan noted that today approximately 40% of the population is engaged in collecting.

At the exhibition "Antiques and Vintage at Kristall", which will be held as part of the Moscow Collector's Meeting on the territory of the former Kristall plant, the only one of its kind and the largest in the country will be exhibited for the first time private collection vintage hats and jewelry by Irina Vorobyova.

From September 14 to 17, 2017, everyone will have the opportunity to look at truly valuable things. The exhibition will feature jewelry and accessories from Kenneth Jay Lane, Coco Chanel, as well as from many famous world designers. One of the most interesting stories possesses a hat purchased at an auction for the sale of personal belongings of the owner of the thinnest waist in everything modeling business Dorothy Virginia Margaret, also known as Dorothy Horan and Dovima, is a fashion legend who has worked for Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. Dorothy acted in films and was Audrey Hepburn's stunt double. At the auction, the hat was presented as being used in the filming of the film Funny Face.

This is what the owner of the collection, Irina Vorobyova, says on the eve of the exhibition:
“Everything in a person should be beautiful: his face, his clothes, his soul, his thoughts...” - this is what the great Russian writer Anton Pavlovich Chekhov once said.
And every woman also wants to be the most beautiful, original, one and only. From time immemorial, the female half of humanity has sought to emphasize their beauty, individuality and character with the help of clothing, accessories and jewelry. Often, accessories and jewelry can tell more about their owner than her clothes.
Women's hats have always been a separate topic for discussion. The standard of elegance at all times has been a hat that is dear to every woman. There were even times (for example, in pre-revolutionary Russia), when it was considered the height of indecency for a lady to go out with her head uncovered, because it is obvious that in a fashionable hat, in a dress with a flirty brooch, a woman looks completely different. And then the word “woman” sounds somehow inappropriate, but you want to address her as “Mademoiselle”, “Miss”, “Lady”... What happened? What are the reasons for such changes? The lady simply allowed herself to put on these lovely accessories, and immediately her image changed, and, accordingly, the attitude of those around them towards their owner.

Famed designer Kenneth Jay Lane once said, “Wearing costume jewelry is like wearing glass slippers: you feel like you’re going to a ball, even if you’re not.” And indeed: wearing an elegant bracelet or a vintage necklace, a woman turns from Cinderella into a beautiful Princess. Moreover, the emphasis in the fashion world is on costume jewelry, since it allows a woman to more clearly express her individuality. As the incomparable Coco Chanel said: “Women with good taste wear costume jewelry, everyone else has to wear gold.”

With all this, today women’s hats, accessories, jewelry and the grace and beauty that they carry are not luxury items and are available to almost everyone.”
To confirm the collector’s words, at the exhibition it will be possible to try on, buy or order a hat from a private Belarusian workshop.

Traditionally, the Moscow gathering will bring together antique dealers, collectors and antique lovers from all over the world. The exhibition organizers promise reasonable prices to all guests. Those interested will be able to exchange experiences and find out answers to their questions. Products from modern craft workshops will be widely represented. Guests will also have access to free master classes on porcelain restoration, making wooden toys, painting, and cleaning bimetallic coins and bonds of the USSR, Russia and the CIS countries.

The master class “Travel Diary in Drawings” will be conducted by artist and illustrator Varvara Ledneva, participant in many collective and personal exhibitions, winner international competitions. She will talk about keeping travel diaries in the “pre-photographic” era, about modern styles record keeping, and will also teach everyone to create their own mini-stories.

Photography has long been a part Everyday life, today it is difficult to surprise someone with photographs even from the brightest trip; creating picturesque images of what you saw on paper is another matter. The drawing leaves much more vivid impression, and they are remembered interesting places and the emotions experienced are much stronger while you are drawing. What is important is that the level of drawing in travel diaries is not particularly important, the main thing here is to find your own style and have a little patience, because making a sketch takes a little longer than clicking the camera shutter, but the pleasure from the work done is much greater, - Varvara herself says.

Throughout all four days, guests of the exhibition will hear live music performed by composer, musician and master of improvisation Stanislav Pinkhasov, and the atmosphere of antiquity will be emphasized in the best possible way by the former factory building itself - a unique historical object erected on the banks of the Yauza back in 1901.

A porcelain jug made at the Imperial Porcelain Factory during the reign of Catherine II dates back to the 1770s. and inlaid with birch bark - porcelain was then worth its weight in gold and this “inlay” was most likely a successful restoration solution for a valuable item.

Among the exhibits at the stand of the Vintage Perfumery Club “The Empress’s Favorite Bouquet,” which was renamed after the revolution to “Red Moscow,” is the “Queen of Spades” perfume, released in 1949 for the 150th anniversary of A.S. Pushkin; rare cologne “Northern”, the packaging and bottle of which were created according to the sketches of K. Malevich in the 1910s. Or, for example, such rarities as the “Zlato Skifov” perfume (1985), as well as the “Kremlin” perfume and cologne (1968) - by the way, bottles in the shape of Kremlin towers have always been considered exclusively men's accessories.

At the first “February” meeting, attention will be paid to the topic of the February Revolution and the Provisional Government of Russia.

Bonistics Club will show paper banknotes from the period of the revolution and civil war. Including the Treasury sign (“Kerenka”) of 1917 with a face value of 40 rubles and a 100-ruble bill, which the Provisional Government ordered, but did not have time to use. This was one of the first “Leninist” money to come into circulation in 1918.
