Translation of songs from The Beatles album. Abbey Road. Translation of songs from The Beatles album Abbey road studio

Seven years after starting work at the Abbey Road studio The Beatles gathered there for their final sessions. In June 1962, they were enthusiastic young men eager to make their mark on the world of pop music. In July 1969, they were seasoned musicians who began to fight each other for money and power.

Songs included in the album Abbey Road, reflected them internal states. They were about lawsuits, unpaid debts, deceptions, bad karma and generally how the whole world suddenly falls on your shoulders.

Despite the depressed mood - or because of it - Abbey Road became one of the most memorable latest albums in the history of music. Two came in best compositions George - “Here Comes The Sun” and “Something”; outstanding song John's "Come Together" and a wonderful remix of unfinished songs created by Paul.

George Martin recalled that after recording ended Let It Be Paul came to him and asked for help in recording an album that would recreate the old sense of community. Martin agreed, but on the condition that the others also wanted it. “That’s how it turned out Abbey Road. It wouldn't exactly be called a return to basics, but they were reworking some old stuff and inviting other musicians to take part in the recording. They were no longer a team."

In Britain Abbey Road was released in September 1969 and remained at number one on the charts for 18 weeks. In America, it was released in October and held the palm for 11 weeks.

==========

"Abbey Road" - twelfth album British rock band The Beatles.
Work on "Abbey Road" took place from February to August 1969 and was the last joint project all four members of the ensemble (the last numbered album of the group, “Let It Be” (1970), for the most part was recorded in January 1969). The recording was produced by George Martin, who had been working with the group since 1962.
After the extremely unsuccessful recording sessions for the planned Get Back album (later renamed Let It Be), Paul McCartney suggested to producer George Martin that they all get together and record an album "like the old days... like they used to be", without the infighting that began with the recording White Album.
Martin agreed on the condition that everything would be "the way it was before", and this album was the end result. However, changes were still made to the usual process of recording an album: now the Beatle who had the idea for the song chose how exactly to record the composition, and the rest of the band members were used as backup musicians. On August 20, 1969, all four musicians in last time worked together; on this day the song “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” was recorded. On September 20, 6 days before the release of the album, Lennon announced to the rest of the band that he was leaving, but it was decided not to make this information known to the general public for now.
The album cover became one of the most famous photographs Beatles. This photograph was not easy to take, since even in those days Abbey Road was one of the busiest streets in London. Photographer Ian McMillan, who took the photos from the stairs, worked hard to get the photo that made it onto the cover. During the photo shoot, the Beatles were nearly hit by passing vehicles several times. Even a random onlooker (Paul Cole, a resident of Florida), who was caught on camera while on vacation in London, became widely known. He later said that at that time the musicians seemed to him like crazy people. Paul Cole himself noticed himself on the cover of the album a few years later, and he had to convince his relatives that it was him and not someone else.

==========================

The Beatles completed work on the White Album in October 1968. It was released in November, and in January 1969 a disc with the score for the film Yellow Submarine appeared on the shelves.
That same month, the Beatles recorded the songs that would later become the Let It Be album. Three weeks after completing work on it, the group took on another new album. Thus, during the year the Beatles recorded (or released) about 60 new compositions.
Naturally, the thought arises that such creativity is most likely musical hack. "Abbey Road" may have its flaws, especially noticeable in the lengthy medley on side two, but many fans consider the album to be the band's best work (it's also the Beatles' best-selling album).
John Lennon, however, would disagree. He felt that the album was too artificial and was aimed primarily at restoring the image of the Beatles after the disastrous Let It Be recording sessions.
Producer George Martin's point of view is more objective: "The album was a kind of compromise. On one side there were songs that John loved, and on the other side the program that Paul and I preferred. I tried to get them to think about symphonic forms and general impression from the album, for example, about the combination and contrast of various compositions and their expression of certain images. If we continued to make albums, it would be this way. But we were already in the process of breaking up. "Abbey Road was our death knell."
Martin's admission that he sided with Paul rather than John is a very revealing statement about the irreversibility of the band's collapse. John's reaction was to effectively stop working in the studio. Abbey Road is an album heavily influenced by McCartney and featuring a couple of brilliant compositions by George Harrison. Lennon's material either goes against the grain of the rest of his work or is little more than trash.
At the same time, the Beatles had never sung or played like they did on Abbey Road. Thus, the medley on the second side of the disc, disliked by some, consisting of short musical pictures, in instrumental terms represents the best performance of the group since “Revolver”. And never before have the harmonies of the Beatles' vocals been so varied and at the same time so harmoniously combined as in this album.
Every time we listen to "Abbey Road", we discover in it countless moments of truly beauty, which prove that art, sometimes against the wishes of its creators, can break through all obstacles.

LET'S PASS!

Free translation of John Lennon's song "Come Together"

Here sits an old rogue,
At the same time a rogue and a buffoon.
He's big-eyed Uncle Joe
He is not a saint, not a dude,
He's hairy, right down to his knees,
He was a buffoon
Now he is a Member...
(jester... joke... joke... joke...)

He wears boots made of felt,
How soft is the step of his feet.
He makes a goat face at everyone,
He drinks Coca-Cola without any problems.
He knows everyone, and everyone knows him,
He's not afraid of anyone.
And if you're still free,
Follow him as long as you please!
(jester... joke... joke... joke...)

He hides supplies in a bag,
In walrus fins, without boots
He will give a kick to any member,
With all my heart, with a knee in the ass.
So he's joking - would you say it's inappropriate?
Keep him in his own chair.
Can you feel his illness?
Follow him while he's useful!
(jester... joke... joke... joke...)

He's as fast as a coastal boat
Lie down in his fairway too.
He muddies the waters
Without filtering.
Sees everyone
He doesn't take risks himself.
Because he is elusive.
Follow him - not the other!
(jester... joke... joke... joke...)

INEXPLAINABILITY

Translation of George Harrison's "Something"

The inexplicability of her movements
It attracts me more than passion.

I don't want to part with her
That I will trust her with everything.

The mystery of her smile hints -
I need her more passion.
The uniqueness of actions broadcasts -
There is no need to break up with her.
And I will trust her with everything.

You ask - will love come?
I don’t know... Who will understand?
It happens the other way around...
I don’t know... Who will understand?

But inexplicability says -
Everything I do is thanks to her.
This inexplicability whispers to me -
I don't want to part with her
I know I'll stay with her.

MAX'S SHINY SLEDGEHAMMER

Translation of Paul McCartney's song “Maxwell's Silver Hammer”

Joan was a chemist, crammed metaphysics
I took it home in the evenings.
And last night, here alone
Test tube experience - oh, oh!
Maxwell, son of Edik (with medic skill),
He whispered to her on the phone:
“Can I invite you to the cinema, Joe-o-a-n-n-n?”
I was just about to go to the cinema,
Someone knocked on the door...

She poked it in the crown, on the forehead.
She was sent to the coffin!

Max goes to class again to play the fool -
The teacher becomes angry.
Offers solutions to problems without scary scenes-n-n-n!
Like, when everyone leaves, you will stay here
And you will write
Fifty times - I did something wrong!
But only she turned her back
A “playboy” crept up behind...

Bom! Bom! Max's Shiny Sledgehammer
He hits me on the crown, on the forehead.
Ringing! Ringing! Max's shiny sledgehammer
She was sent to the coffin.

From the report of the constable of the 31st police station (recited):
“We caught one! Bright and muddy - wow!
Max goes alone
And he gives the following testimony:
“Oh-oh-oh!”

Court.
Rosa and friend Valery shouted from the gallery:
“Give freedom to Max!”
But the judge does not agree, they say - “Everything is decided-o-o!”
Only the words come out of my mouth
There is noise in the hall and... a new corpse....

Bom! Bom! Max's Shiny Sledgehammer
She poked it in the crown, on the forehead.
Ringing! Ringing! Max's Shiny Sledgehammer
And she sent him to the coffin!

Honey, hey! You move in quickly

I'm not such a hooligan in real life!

Darling, ah! Don't leave me

Don't leave me alone.

If the market is like this, if there is a dynamo here*,
You know then that I am broken, almost furious.
If you market like that and if you make dynamism like that,
Know then that I am broken, I almost gave up my skates.

Darling, ah! Don't leave me
I'm the only one who doesn't want to be here.
Consider what I'm saying here -
Don't leave me alone.

If the market is like this and if everything is a dynamo,
Know then that I am broken, almost furious.
And if you bastard like that, if you make dynamism like that,
Then know that I’m broken, I almost gave up my skates.

Honey, hey! So come in quickly
I'm not such a hooligan in real life!
Take a deep dive into what I'm saying here -
I'm not such a hooligan in real life!

SHADY GARDEN OF OCTOPUSES

Translation of Ringo Starr's song "Octopus's Garden"

A dream flight, no matter where you are -
Shady octopus garden.

I invited my friends to that house,
Let's take a look at this kindergarten as soon as possible.
I dreamed of a house at the bottom of the sea
With a shady octopus garden.

It's quiet and warm and there are no storms,
There are a lot of worries in life.
Let's rest our souls and minds here
In a cave near the octopus's garden.

We'll sing here, we'll dance here,
After all, we know that they won’t find us here.
I dreamed of a house at the bottom of the sea
With a shady octopus garden.

Let's shout a song and swim
Among the corals hidden under the waves
(under the ocean waves).
And joy to all, all the children,
That happiness exists and does not exist around a tsunami
(there is happiness, but there is no tsunami).

And the joy is that there is no one here,
Who will teach us life is noble.
I dreamed of a house at the bottom of the sea

With a shady octopus garden,
With a shady octopus garden...

I WANT YOU (SHE IS NOT AVAILABLE)

Translation of John Lennon's song “I Want You (She's So Heavy)”

This is dangerous for my brain.

But I want you, I want you passionately, baby.
Yes, I want, I want you passionately
Even though it's dangerous for my brain.
This is dangerous for my brain.

And she's unavailable
Criminally inaccessible, inaccessible...

I want, I want you passionately.
I want, I want you passionately
And this is dangerous for my brain.
This is dangerous for my brain.

The sun is rising
The sun is rising, see?
Rejoice in him.

Dear, the cold winter felt like an eternity.
Dear, years, like feelings, are fleeting.
The sun is rising
The sun is rising, see?
Rejoice in him.

Darling, smiles will touch our faces again.
Darling, they walk in a line like years.
The sun is rising
The sun is rising, see?
Rejoice in him.

Light, light, light, coming towards us...

Honey, the cold ice will still melt.
Darling, he, like the years, is transparently pure.
The sun is rising
The sun is rising, see?
Rejoice in him.

Rejoice in him

Because the world is out there

Due to the fact that the world around...

Because the wind is rough

Love is everything, love is new.

YOU NEVER GIVE ME CASH

Translation of Paul McCartney's song “You Never Give Me Your Money”

You never give me cash
You're just handing me these discount cards
And in the middle of our discussions
You're kicking me...

I don't give you my phone number
I'm just explaining the location,
And in the middle of our word debates
I'm falling into a clinch...

School is in the past, no money
Life suddenly gave way.
The money has flown under the bridge and where to go.
With a part-time job, a skiff,
On Monday you suddenly remember -
Transport is in a trance* and there is nowhere to rush.
Oh, an unearthly feeling - What's the rush?
Oh, an unearthly feeling - Where to rush, Where to rush?

There is only one way out -
Take your clothes, get into the limousine -
We'll be far away soon...
Step on the gas, wipe away a tear,
A dream-charm come true,
You are on the right track,
You're on the right track...That's it

One, two, three...six, seven and eight -
Cute babies are taken to heaven...

SMUTTER, MR. MUSTARD

Translation of John Lennon's song “Mean Mr. Mustard"

A homeless man and a miser, Mr. Mustard, found himself in the park,
He shaved in the semi-darkness, saving toilet paper.
Sleeping in a roadside ditch,
Saving money for clothes
Rustles the chervonets in front of the face...
What a greedy old man.
What a greedy old man.

Pam, his sister, is a saleswoman in the store -
Very businesslike, energetic -
He takes him to the queen for a reception -
The place where he is always lucky
He's yelling rude things there...
What a dirty old man
Dirty old man...

SHE CLIMBED THROUGH THE WINDOW

Translation (with some adaptation) of a song by Paul McCartney
"She Came in Through Bathroom Window"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7mzaLpvID4&feature=related

She climbed through the bathroom window.
She was lucky. She was born with a spoon of silver.
Well, now it’s time to suck her fig,
Her lagoon has collected all the dirt.

And who will tell anything about her?
And who will see it with their own eyes?
She has seven Fridays a week,
But only on Tuesday he will call.

She'll lie that she's a dancer
In a dozen “clubs” he dances every day.
But I knew what kind of bird this was,
But I was too lazy to report the theft.

And therefore, as soon as I left the prison,
He went into service to plow valiantly.
She explains to everyone that she supposedly helped me...
She knows how to steal, but it’s not up to her to decide about my rights.

But who will tell anything about her now?
And who will see it with their own eyes now?
She has seven Fridays in one week,
But only on Tuesday the “ratings” will suffer.
Oh yeah!

GOLDEN DREAMS

Sleep, my dear, don’t cry,
I’ll sing to you: “Bai-bai...”

A radiant light will touch your eyes,
You will wake up with a smile at this hour....
Sleep, dear, and don’t cry,
I'll sing to you at your cradle...

Someday I'll return to my roots
Someday I will return to my home.
Sleep, my dear, don’t cry,
I’ll sing to you: “Bai-bai...”

CARRY YOUR CROSS

My boy, bear that cross,
Carry this cross throughout your life.
My boy, bear that cross for you,
Carry this cross throughout your life...

I don't feel your breath on my shoulder,
Only quietly I whisper prayers of remembrance,
After all, in the middle of our wandering
We had to part...

My son, we bear this cross,

My son, we bear this cross.
We carry that cross even after life...

IN THE END

What else can I say?
You will fly into dreams at night!

And I love you, I love...

In the end, you took just so much love with you,
How much of that love you received.

LET'S PASS! The Beatles - Come Together

In 1969, who became a legend during her lifetime group The The Beatles released their eleventh album. The album was recorded in London's Abbey Road studio and was named after her. This album's cover has gone down in rock history as one of the most famous and most imitated. Every year, fans of the legendary four meet at pedestrian crossing on Abbey Road to celebrate yet another anniversary of the iconic disc. So it was for this anniversary, 45th time...

18 PHOTOS, 1 VIDEO

1. The cover photo was taken outside during a break in recording. This significant event took place on August 8, 1969. This day was chosen by fans of the band to annually celebrate the creation of Abbey Road. (Photo: ANDY RAIN/PAP/EPA).
2. This is probably the most famous album cover in music history. The photograph of The Beatles was taken by Scottish photographer Iain Macmillan. (Photo: ANDY RAIN/PAP/EPA).
3. MacMillan only had 10 minutes. During this time, a local policeman helped the Beatles by driving traffic. A total of 6 pictures were taken, of which Paul McCartney chose photo number 5. (Photo: ANDY RAIN / PAP/EPA).
4. The cover gave rise to the legend that Paul McCartney died and signs indicating this are visible in the photo. This should have been confirmed by the fact that Paul is barefoot, out of step with the others and holding a cigarette, while the license plate of the car "281F" should indicate that Paul would be 28 if he lived. In fact, McCartney was 27 years old when the record was released. (Photo: ANDY RAIN/PAP/EPA).
5. Reputable music magazine Rolling Stone placed "Abbey Road" at number 14 on his list best albums in history. (Photo: ANDY RAIN/PAP/EPA).
6. A little less than a year after the release of “Abbey Road,” the Beatles ceased to exist. (Photo: ANDY RAIN/PAP/EPA).
7. Due to the popularity of the cover, a walk along the famous pedestrian crossing is an integral part of the tourist program. Especially in the summer, thousands of Beatles fans transform for a moment into their idols. (Photo: ANDY RAIN/PAP/EPA).
8. There were so many tourists that the local authorities became concerned about the problem. Neighboring residents also complain about the invasion of Beatlemaniacs, for whom the influx of tourists means noise and traffic jams. (Photo: ANDY RAIN/PAP/EPA).
9. After consultations, a solution was found. (Photo: ANDY RAIN/PAP/EPA).
10. To solve the problem, a traffic police officer should soon appear at the famous crossing, whose task will be to reconcile the cars, local residents and tourists. (Photo: ANDY RAIN/PAP/EPA).
11. Abbey Road is considered the most commercially successful Beatles album. In the US alone, 12 million copies of this disc were sold on physical media. (Photo: ANDY RAIN/PAP/EPA).
12. Modern listeners have not lost interest in the disc either. Abbey Road is one of the most downloaded albums on iTunes. (Photo: ANDY RAIN/PAP/EPA).

Previous photo Next photo

Abbey Road is, without exaggeration, the most famous intersection and the most famous recording studio in the world. The intersection was immortalized on the cover of The Beatles album of the same name, recorded at this very studio in 1969. The record was repeatedly recognized as the best in the entire history of the group, and the zebra crossing depicted in the photo with the Fab Four passing through it instantly became a popular fan site. After 40 years, the people's path to Abbey Road is not overgrown, and Beatlemaniacs who want to take photos at the pedestrian crossing regularly delay traffic.

What to see

The pedestrian zebra crossing across Abbey Road is the number one tourist attraction. The popularity is easy to explain if you look at the cover of the Beatles' Abbey Road album, which shows the four members of the group striding across the street, hurrying to the recording studio. The road markings before and after the pedestrian crossing also “walk” (however, if you find yourself driving, you still shouldn’t follow zigzags). But no one forbids taking pictures in Beatles poses - London drivers are sympathetic to such behavior of tourists, because the zebra crossing is officially on the list cultural places London.

The Abbey Road pedestrian crossing is the only zebra crossing that has its own webcam with live broadcast on the Internet.

Abbey Road

Next, you should definitely go to the building at the intersection of Abbey Road and Grove End Road, on the corner of which, alas, at an unattainable height, there is a sign: “Abbey Road NW8 City of Westminster.” Previously, it was slightly taller than a man, but the number of thefts of the sign exceeded all reasonable limits - and the inscription was raised, not forgetting to be firmly embedded in the building. However, this doesn't stop fans from showing their love for the Beatles in other ways - check out the graffiti on both sides of the house. By the way, it is for this reason that the municipal authorities renew the paint on the building every three months.

The final destination of the journey along Abbey Road is the recording studio of the same name, located in the white two-story mansion No. 3. The studio was created in 1931 and belongs to EMI. Over the 80 years of its existence, Abbey Road has glorified many musicians: in addition to the Beatles themselves, they recorded here Pink Floyd and, later, David Gilmour, Duran Duran, Oasis, U2, Radiohead, Keane and many others. In 2010, the studio was recognized as a historical landmark and has its own website. However, it is not possible to enter the building (unless you are recording an album, of course), so you will have to be content with photographing the famous white facade.

How to get to Abbey Road

Abbey Road, which stretches 2.1 km, is located in west central London, in the boroughs of Westminster and Cadman. You can easily get here by public transport, including on red “double deckers”, the landmark is the central cricket stadium Lord’s Cricket Ground, the site of the 2012 Olympics.
