Good tricks and their secrets. The illusion of deception: how the most famous tricks actually work

Incredible facts

Many people remember this unique feeling from childhood, when we watched tricks and believed in miracles. We never ceased to admire how magicians do it.

If you don't want to be left in the dark and are eager to know how these famous tricks work, this article is for you.

You might be surprised at how easy these illusions are to perform.

Tricks with people

1. Levitation

A woman lies on a board that is supported by a metal rod. The magician stands so as to cover the rod and thus where he stands determines how well this trick is performed.

2. Zigzag girl

This is a pretty simple trick. When the assistant enters the closet, she turns her body so that when the knives enter, they do not hit her. When the middle part of the cabinet is pulled out, only her arm moves, but the black lining of the cabinet gives the illusion that the middle part of the body is completely coming off.

1. Cabinet design elements that add flex space for the person inside. They are usually painted black to blend in with the cabinetry.

2. The knives only extend into part of the vertical space, leaving room for the assistant.

3. Black bars - used space. They are hard to see when viewed from the side or on TV, making the box appear smaller.

4. The interior space is larger than it seems.

3. In the air

This trick is similar to the levitation trick, but the magician does not stand in front of a support rod. He then passes the hoop over the assistant, but only as far as the support allows, creating the illusion that the body is floating in the air.

Tricks involving sawing a person

4. Sawing a woman. Option 1

The man in the box must bend his legs to create the illusion that his body is being cut in half. The fake legs are attached to the other end of the box.

5. Sawing a woman. Option 2

Another variation of the classic trick is that one assistant is already in the box before the trick begins. When another assistant enters the box, the one in the box sticks her legs out, while the other one hides them, showing only her upper body. When the box is sawed, we see one half of two people.

6. Floating Man

This trick can often be seen among street performers. The magician actually sits on a metal seat attached to a rod that is connected to a platform hidden by a carpet.

7. Michael Jackson dance

This dance movement when Michael Jackson and the dancers leaned 45 degrees, which can be seen during the song "Smooth Criminal" is easier than you thought. The boot's notch grips the instep so that when you lean below the center of gravity, you can return to your original upright position without falling.

Hello again!

Sergey Kulikov, aka Sailor, is in touch with you again!

Many people often search on the Internet for something like “revealing the secrets of magic tricks” and so on. In this article I will tell you the secret of one very cool trick!

This trick is called “Return to Fat City” or “Return to Fat City”. And it was invented by a very inventive magician John Bannon, who is famous for many of his signature tricks.

This trick is an ideal find for those people who have just embarked on the path of a professional magician and want to approach the study of this interesting genre as competently as possible.

Because the most important thing in presenting a trick is the pattern, that is, verbal accompaniment or some kind of story. So, this trick is simply impossible to show without a story. The viewer simply will not understand anything.

Thus, by training this trick, you will undoubtedly significantly increase your magic level to a new level. And at the same time, your communication skills will improve.

It will be incredibly useful to teach this trick to a child. It will become much easier for him to communicate with people and easier to find mutual language with anyone.

So, enough chatter, let's get to the trick itself!

We tell the viewer a story that there is an infinite number of different cities in the world. But there is one very unusual city, it is called Fat City. And this is our deck of cards.

In this city, two very brave fat cops serve - Fat Jack and Fat Kolyok :) In a deck of cards these are Black Jacks.

One dark evening Fat city One of the most ordinary fat residents went for a walk. At this moment we invite the viewer to choose any card.

But after that, this resident got lost in this city and was never seen again. Now we remove the spectator’s card into the deck and begin to shuffle it to lose the card chosen by the spectator.

And at this very moment our fat cops come into play!

They're going to work!

They need to find what's missing. We put these Jacks together and put them in the center of the deck.

We snap our finger and tell the viewer that they have never set us up before and they did their job honestly and efficiently.

We look through the deck and see that there is one card between the two Jacks. We take it out and turn it over and it is... really the spectator's card!

Our fat cops did their job!

But our fat resident turned out to be a rather unlucky fellow. He disappears again!

And the fat cops are reluctant to take up their jobs again!

But this time our fat resident completely disappeared from the city! And there is no longer any chance of finding him. However, fat cops will still endlessly comb the entire city.

During these words, we lay out the deck on the table with a ribbon and the viewer sees that one of the Jacks lies at the top, the other at the bottom of the deck. And we only have one card left in our hands - the spectator's card!

This trick perfectly demonstrates how important the pattern is in performing almost any trick.

If you want to play with the viewer, show not just a trick, but the most real story. And an unusual story, as well as a really smart and interesting one, then this trick will be a real find for you!

You will create a real show that will be interesting to watch and listen to absolutely any viewer. Of course, if they themselves want it :) You should not impose this on those who are not interested in it and if they are not ready to listen to you.

As children, we didn’t think about how circus tricks worked - we simply believed in them. It is much more difficult to surprise an adult; it is not enough to simply pull a rabbit out of a hat. Illusionists such as David Copperfield and David Blaine work in this field - and then we see levitation, the disappearance of the Statue of Liberty and other impressive tricks. Sometimes magicians reveal their secrets - and it turns out that every trick has a completely reasonable explanation

1. Classic of the genre: sawing a woman in half
The assistant climbs into a long, coffin-like box. Then the magician announces that he will now saw this lady in half right in the box - and he successfully does this without any harm to her health! There are several ways to perform this trick. Classic way, described in 1923, is shown in the picture below.

The box actually contains a secret, enough for the assistant to tuck her legs under. And the cut off legs are played by fake ones (they were controlled using a special mechanism to imitate movement). Therefore, they must wear shoes to cover them as much as possible.

And this is a more modern method, when not one assistant takes part in the trick, but two. Just one hidden in a box in advance. After the “sawing,” one smiles, and the second moves her legs.

2. Levitation
The trick begins with the assistant lying down on the table in front of the magician. The crowd gasps in surprise when the magician suddenly clears the table and the woman continues to float in the air.

The assistant who helps perform this trick is usually dressed in a long, flowing dress, which the magician uses to hide the real magic: a mechanical "levitation" device that is attached to the magician and with which he holds the assistant. And here sleight of hand comes into play: in order to distract the viewer’s attention, the magician takes out a hoop and begins to move it, showing that nothing is supposedly attached to the woman’s body.

3. Levitation of street “fakirs”

It would seem that if he actually levitates, why does he need a staff?

And this staff is the whole point: it is a very strong structure that holds a hidden platform on which a person sits.

4. Michael Jackson Tilt
Remember that incredible 45-degree tilt that Michael Jackson and his dancers did? They wore special boots with a specially shaped heel: at the right moment, pegs appeared on the surface of the stage, onto which the heel caught.

Here you can see how it works

5. The most famous trick of all time: pulling a rabbit out of a hat
A rabbit can hardly be hidden in a hat, but where does it come from then? Surely there is a simple explanation.

Well, there are three ways to hide a rabbit:
1) In a secret hole in the table. When the magician puts down his hat, he matches it with the secret door.
2) He's really wearing a hat! But the hat has a clever flip flap.

6. Zigzag Girl To perform this trick, you first need a skilled assistant, because her task is to position herself correctly in a cramped closet. It is necessary to position yourself in such a way that the face, hand and foot maintain a natural straight position standing man, and the audience did not suspect anything.

7. David Copperfield's trick with the disappearance of the Statue of Liberty

In 1983, David Copperfield convinced a crowd of spectators for a few minutes that the Statue of Liberty had disappeared. He did this trick once and never repeated it again.

Disappearance of the Statue of Liberty
There are two towers in front of the Statue of Liberty. A brightly illuminated Statue is visible against the background of the night sky, and a mark from it is visible on the radar. A blanket rises on the towers, David covers the radar, the blanket falls - the statue has disappeared, only a ring of lights around it is visible. The radar blip also disappears. The blanket rises and falls again - the statue appears as if nothing had happened.

There are several guesses as to how this was done.

a) Turntable

The spectators did not notice this, but they visual seats were located on a giant rotating platform. After looking at the statue at the very beginning, they were slowly turned to the point where it was no longer visible. How did they not notice the rotation? Everything happened at night, the statue is located on the island, there are especially no identifying marks there.

b) Light curtain
At the appointed moment, the autonomous lighting of the statue turned off. Only 2 spotlights remained working on the island, crossing behind the towers, and spotlights on the towers, blinding the audience and not allowing them to see anything in detail. In fact, the spotlights did not illuminate the statue, but were directed upward and away from it.

c) Staging
That is, simply deception, a hoax, and hired actors act as spectators. Skeptics usually favor this view.

Hello again, my dear subscribers!

Sergey Kulikov, aka Sailor, is in touch with you again!

In our article today we will look at the best tricks and their secrets that I know! You won't regret your time!

The trick that we will discuss with you today is more likely not even a trick or a trick. This is a whole concept and idea, against which many skilled stuntmen come up with their own tricks.

The name of this miracle is “Water and Oil”! Just a brilliant trick. There are an endless number of variations. Literally every master had at least one original version of this trick in his arsenal!

Edward Marlowe came up with a huge number of variations! It is quite possible that today's trick is his development! Of the contemporaries, I really like Chris Mayhew's version.

It seems to me that there are already several hundred methods for performing this trick! This is simply phenomenal!

The most interesting thing is that almost all methods are simply incredibly similar to each other. Once you learn one, the rest will come almost naturally.

However, in these days There are brilliant craftsmen who achieve this magical effect using completely unthinkable and most unobvious methods!

And at the same time, the effect is simply insanely visual and performed as naturally as possible! Sometimes even experienced magicians find it impossible to notice anything in their performance!

They are usually based on not very complex methods. But in order to correctly demonstrate a trick, you need to train it very hard and show it as naturally as possible. Otherwise, the magical effect will turn into ordinary sleight of hand.

And all adequate stunt performers are always afraid of this. You don’t want to be branded as an ordinary gray charlatan with cards? :)

Eh, before I even got to the trick, I was already praising it with all my might :)

More action, less words!

Before showing the trick, of course, we'll shuffle the deck. We can let the viewer do it. Let him enjoy this activity to his fullest :)

Now let's select a certain number of cards from the deck and show them to the viewer.

We show him that these are four cards with black suits and four cards with red suits. Black cards will represent oil, and red cards will represent water. A little strange, isn't it? :) But a little later you will understand what the essence of the trick is!

We'll start mixing our oil and water! Let's first put a red card on the table, and a black one on it, then red again and black again. And so on until the end.

But we all know that if you mix oil with water, the oil will always float to the top!

We snap our fingers and show that the top cards of our pile are black! And the lower ones, accordingly, are red!

Let's try to do the same again. Suddenly we will be able to break the laws of physics. We are magicians after all :)

Let's first put a black card and a red one on top of it. And so on until the end. Exactly the same as last time.

It would seem that we really mixed everything up, showing the viewer the cards completely openly. But after snapping my fingers, the oil floated to the top again!

Again, the black cards were on top, and the red cards remained on the bottom!

How are black cards separated from red cards? Real magic!

Everything happens so openly and simply that for the viewer it looks like this:

  • the performer showed me the black card, put it on the table
  • showed me the red card, put it on the black one
  • in the same way until the cards run out
  • after clicking, the black cards are on top and the red cards are on the bottom of the stack

Demonstration and training

This trick is a real classic! It can easily stand on par with such an effect as “Triumph”, authored by Dai Vernon!

By the way, I advise everyone to learn the version It’s called “Three-stack Triumph”.

Demonstration and training

Well, that's all for me! I hope you have learned what I mean by “the best magic tricks and their secrets.”

Sergey Kulikov, aka Sailor, was in touch with you!

The content of the article:

A child will be able to feel like a real illusionist if he learns to perform tricks with coins, water, oil and other auxiliary materials. The secrets of these miracles are quite simple. They are based on the laws of physics and chemistry. By telling and showing your child how to do spectacular performances, you will help him become the life of the party among his peers and better master school subjects.

Water tricks

If you want it to turn into ice right before your eyes, even on a hot day, then pour water into a plastic bottle and put it in the freezer. The liquid should cool well, but not have time to freeze. Monitor the water periodically, as soon as it is close to freezing, remove it.

It is optimal to put the liquid in containers in the freezer for 1.5 hours, setting the temperature to -18°C.

Even earlier, you need to pour a partial bowl of water and freeze the liquid well. Remove this container at the same time as the cooled water. Pour cold liquid over ice and the substance will freeze before your eyes.

Let the kids make their own rainbow water. As a result, there will be a multilayer liquid in a transparent glass.

Here's what you'll need to do these tricks with water:

  • 4 glasses;
  • sugar;
  • tea spoon;
  • water;
  • paints;
  • large transparent wine glass.
Leave the first glass empty for now, pour half a spoon of sugar into the second, a whole spoon into the third, and 1.5 tsp into the fourth.

Now add water to each glass, stir the sugar with a spoon or brush. Dip the brush into scarlet paint. Place it in a container that does not contain sugar and stir. Add a drop of green watercolor to the water in the next glass. Color the liquid in the third glass with black gouache, and the water in the last glass with yellow.

Now fill the syringe with red liquid and pour it into a transparent wine glass.

Then fill the syringe with green water and pour it into the glass. After this, add black water to the glass in the same way, and yellow water last.

Look how beautiful rainbow water you have.

The secret of the trick is that the more sugar in the liquid, the denser the solution becomes, and the lower it sinks.

Such interesting tricks with water are performed with pleasure by children, whom they distract from gadgets and computers and provide an opportunity to have an interesting time.

The next trick with water is done quickly and easily. For it you will need only 3 components:

  • transparent plastic bottle;
  • water;
  • small packet of ketchup.
Roll the bag so that it fits through the neck of the bottle into the container. Fill it with water, but not to the top. Make passes with your left hand; following it, the bag will begin to fall and then rise. In fact you will right hand Squeeze the bottle slightly, and the flow of water will regulate the movement of the bag.

Other tricks with water are no less interesting. Fill a transparent plastic bag with it, pierce it with a pencil on one side so that it comes out on the other. In this case, water will not spill out of the bag.

This trick will help your child become interested in chemistry. After all, this science explains that water does not flow out because the deformed molecules of the bag create a kind of seal, sealing the area between it and the pencil.

You can pierce the bag with more than one pencil, or use long nails instead.

Coin tricks

Some of them also used water. Surprise your child by saying that you have a magic jar that increases money. Pour water into it and throw a coin. Then cover the neck with a napkin and move your hand over it, casting a spell. Remove the napkin and ask your child to look through the top of the jar. He will see that there is more money.

These coin tricks are based on the law of physics regarding the refraction of light. Before the illusion begins, place three coins under the jar. If you look at the container from the side, they will not be visible, and you can only see the coin that you put inside the transparent container.

And at the end of the attraction, ask your child to look through the top of the jar, and then he will see that there is more money.

Other tricks with a coin are no less interesting. Place the following items on the table:

  • plate;
  • paper;
  • matches or lighter;
  • a glass that is one-third or one-quarter filled with water;
  • dry glass;
  • coin
Place the coin in a plate and fill it with water from a glass. Tell those present that they must remove the money without getting their fingers wet. To do this, you can only use those items that are on the table. You cannot pick up the plate with your hands or turn it over.

If the crowd doesn't know how to do these tricks with coins, amaze them. Crumple the paper, place it in a glass and set it on fire.

Take the glass with a gloved hand, quickly turn it over and immediately lower it in this form onto a plate of water. Soon the liquid will flow into the glass, and the coin will remain lying nearby. Wait a moment for it to dry, then remove without getting your fingers wet.

Tricks and their secrets reveal the secret of this attraction. The water in the glass was forced to move by atmospheric pressure. When the paper burned, the air pressure in the glass increased and forced some of it out. After the glass was turned over, the paper went out and the air cooled. The pressure weakened, air began to enter the container, which drove the water inside along with it.

Coin tricks can turn into real performances. To arrange one of them, you will need:

  • Matchbox;
  • map;
  • two completely identical coins;
  • glass of water;
  • cocktail straw;
  • magnet.
Place three matches on the table in the shape of a triangle, tell the audience that this is the “Bermuda Triangle”, in which all sorts of miracles happen. Place a coin in its center, place a card on it, and place a glass with water and a straw on top.

Now say any spell, while saying that you are turning the coin into water. To do this, take a little water from a straw into your mouth, and then put the coin, which supposedly turned from water into money, on the back of your hand and show it to those present. Show those gathered that the coin is not in the old place. Remove the box of matches from the card and pick it up. Apart from three matches there will be nothing there, including money.

Such magic tricks with coins are admirable. Not everyone will understand how such a trick is done. It's actually simple.

Even before the trick begins, you need to put the coin in your mouth by the cheek and hold it with your tongue.

Better take the money big size so as not to accidentally swallow it. With this part of the trick you need to be extremely careful so that the coin lying in your mouth does not lead to disaster.

Even before you perform tricks with a coin, place a flat magnet at the very bottom of the box. Place matches on top. When you place the box on the card, the coin underneath will be magnetically attached to the card.

When you pretend that you turned the coin into water and drank it, take the money out from behind your cheek and demonstrate to others that the money, supposedly in a liquid state, rose up the straw and ended up in your mouth. Next, lift the box of matches along with the card, holding it. Demonstrate to the audience that in the Bermuda Triangle the matchstick coin disappeared.

Show them reverse side cards so they can see, there is no money there either. Now you need to make a diversion to hide the coin. To do this, slowly open the box of matches by removing it from the case. While doing this, discreetly hold the money. Place the matches in the box and use your finger to move the coin from the underside of the case under the bottom of the box. Place the cover over the matches.

Now you can show the audience the boxes from all sides so that they are convinced that there is no money. Here's how to do coin tricks to impress others.

For beginners, we can recommend other manipulations that will delight the audience. Despite their simplicity, they are very effective and will create a sensation.

Easy tricks

Arrange a spectacular volcanic eruption. To implement your plan, you will need:

  • colored cardboard;
  • scissors;
  • tray;
  • vinegar essence;
  • plasticine;
  • 1 tsp. dishwashing liquids;
  • 2 paper clips;
  • red gouache.

Cut a circle out of cardboard, use scissors to make a cut on the side, and roll it into a cone. Secure it at the top and bottom with paper clips. Cut a round hole at the top; this will be the crater of the volcano. Place the workpiece on a tray, cover it on the sides and top with plasticine. Pour soda into the mouth, pour in dishwashing detergent or liquid soap, and paint.

After these preparations, you can begin to perform easy tricks, which, despite their simplicity, are very effective. Pour a little vinegar essence into the mouth of the volcano and watch it begin to erupt and foam beautifully.

Attention! Vinegar essence- This is a very concentrated acid. You need to be extremely careful with her. Don't let your children do this trick, show it to them yourself.

Teaching tricks continues with an interesting trick with an egg. Since matches will be used, you also need to be extremely careful in carrying out the spectacular action. Here's a complete list of everything you'll need:
  • Glass bottle;
  • boiled egg;
  • paper;
  • matches.
Crumple up a piece of paper, set it on fire and immediately place it in the bottle. Without hesitation, place the egg on top of the neck and enjoy the spectacle of how it gradually ends up inside the vessel.

And here's another one interesting trick with egg. You will learn how to make it into a pliable, rubber-like substance. To do this, you only need three things:
  • egg;
  • vinegar 9%;
  • mug.
Put a raw egg into a mug, fill it with vinegar, leave for a day. After this time, carefully drain the vinegar and pour over the egg. cold water. Get him out. You will see that within a day the vinegar has completely dissolved the shell of the egg, which consists of calcium, and it has become slightly transparent and looks like rubber. But you need to handle such a toy carefully, since the yolk inside is liquid and when the shell is pierced, it will simply pour out through the hole.

Experiments in chemistry

We bring to your attention several more spectacular tricks that are based on the laws of chemistry. If you show your child the fascinating transformations of water, liquid soap and other ingredients into the magic foam, children will surely love this science, and it will be much more interesting for them to study this subject at school.

To make magic foam you will need:

  • water - 100 ml;
  • liquid soap - 5–6 tbsp. l.;
  • flavoring such as cinnamon;
  • dye.

All these ingredients need to be poured into a bowl and mixed with a blender. You will get a beautiful colored aromatic foam that is so nice to play with. It can be transferred into various containers and built castles in the air. Children will certainly find a use for colored foam.

If you want the foam to last as long as possible, add a drop of glycerin to it before whipping.

Interesting chemistry experiments help you admire volcanic lava at home. For the next experiment you will need:
  • a glass not filled to the top with warm water;
  • sunflower oil;
  • dye;
  • 1 tbsp. l. salt;
  • Effervescent aspirin tablets.
Pour into a glass of water vegetable oil, it is lighter in density than water, so it will not mix with it, but will rise to the top.

Now add the dye and mix. Add salt and mix too. Since its density is greater than that of oil, it will drag it to the bottom.

As the salt dissolves, it will raise it back to the top. As a result of this chemical experiment, you will see the violent boiling of lava if you drop an effervescent aspirin tablet into a glass.

Such tricks for beginners look even more impressive if, at the moment the liquid is bubbling, you turn off the light and turn on the flashlight. Such a sight is truly magical.

The following experiment will help you make smart plasticine or space slime. For it you will need:
  • PVA glue - 100 g;
  • brilliant green;
  • sodium tetraborate - 1 bottle.
Pour glue into a bowl, add sodium tetraborate and brilliant green.

Stir the mixture until it thickens. You've got smart plasticine that children love to play with.

That's how many interesting things you can see by using chemistry experiments at home. Many tricks with water and other subjects are also based on the sciences taught at school.

The following stories will help you see other interesting experiments that you can conduct at home with your children.
