“The Voice” star Alexander Panayotov: “By miraculously surviving, I cast aside my last doubts.” . The star of the show “The Voice” Alexander Panayotov miraculously survived a terrible accident Battle with his mother’s dumplings

Alexander Panayotov is called the sensation of the fifth season of the show “The Voice” on Channel One. Many obviously consider him the winner and offer to go to Eurovision in 2017. Meanwhile, in “The Voice” things haven’t even come to fights yet - the mentors are just recruiting teams.

ON THIS TOPIC

According to Panayotov, in this music project he ended up after a tragic accident. “In my case, the impetus was a car accident, after which one cannot survive,” the musician admitted. “I was driving after Yulia Nachalova’s birthday - in winter, it was night. I was sitting in the back seat, not wearing a seat belt. A second - and a blow to the forehead. A car that crashed into us, skidded. I remember the smoke, the airbags, I flew out into the front seat - I wasn’t seriously injured, but at that moment everything turned upside down inside me. I realized how short life was. I’m losing because of some kind of pride that I need to act urgently.”

When the question arose whether to apply for “The Voice,” the singer had no doubts. “I’ve been thinking about it for four years since the launch of this show,” the portal Life.ru quotes Panayotov. “It was incredibly important to me what each of the mentors would say - I know everyone, I’m friends with someone.” Let us add that Alexander participated in the “People’s Artist” project on the “Russia” channel, but then he music career didn't make much progress.

Now he is tipped for the finals of “The Voice” and on. Like, the most obvious candidate from Russia. But Alexander Panayotov appeared on the air of “The Voice” only once. He split the audience's hearts into atoms with his performance of Eric Carmen's song All By Myself and turned all the mentors to him.

Although a month ago, few people remembered Panayotov at all: yes, he performed at the People’s Artist, yes, they showed him on TV. Where is he now, what happened to him?

The TV program magazine recalls Alexander’s difficult journey from the heights to oblivion and back. Through failures, copper pipes, four Eurovision selections and star fever.

Suitcase without handle

He first came to Moscow for the “Be a Star” show in 2002. Since then, a series of second roles began, which haunted Panayotov throughout his career. Alexander reached the finals, but never made it into the “Other Rules” group, which was assembled from the winners.

A year later, with carelessly highlighted tousled hair and an unbuttoned marsh-colored shirt, Alexander sang the song “Lady of Rain” in the show “People’s Artist”. And he remained in the project. And since then he has firmly established himself in the capital.

“I was born in Ukraine, in the city of Zaporozhye, in an average family,” the vocalist recalls. — There were no musicians in our family. First music school my sister graduated. And as soon as the question arose whether to throw away the piano, they decided to send me to a music school. At 9 years old entrance examinations I sang Mariah Carey in a high voice. This came as a shock. Nobody wanted to take me to class - they were afraid of responsibility. This continues to this day. Producers who have designs on me are afraid to work with me. I do not know why. It turns out that I’m like a suitcase without a handle - it’s a shame to throw it away and hard to carry.

Despite another second place - in "People's Artist", - the singer signed a 7-year contract with the production center of Evgeniy Fridlyand and Kim Breitburg FBI-MUSIC. Then there were performances in Russia and Europe, the duet “Moon Melody” with Larisa Dolina and even several albums.

“I had a contract,” Panayotov says without joy in his voice. — Then tours and many concerts began. He even spoke at the UN hall in New York. I was invited to appear on television, and in programs that had nothing to do with music and creativity. The popularity went beyond the scope of “People’s Artist”.

On a wave of recognition, the singer began to break through to Eurovision. Since 2005, he has applied for the competition four times in a row - both from Russia and, in desperation, from Ukraine. However, every time something prevented success. The most offensive performance was in 2008, when Panayotov removed Sergei Lazarev from qualifying round, but lost only two points to Dima Bilan, who won Eurovision that same year.

“To be honest, there is a lot of money swirling around Eurovision,” Alexander later said in his hearts. - This can be called financing, corruption, any word. But I don’t want to delve into these undercurrents. I was disappointed in this competition. The forces were absolutely unequal, and I consider my second place to be deservedly first. My friends and colleagues sent SMS and participated in voting on the Internet site. Everyone who sent messages received a response that... “the service is unavailable,” and the site simply closed when people tried to vote for a specific contestant. So the question remains - who installed these spectator glasses?

Fateful accident

The contract expired in 2011. As it is written on Panayotov’s website, since then the artist “continued his creative career independently, deliberately distancing themselves from television broadcasts and interviews.” It is unlikely that that distance was intentional and desired.

“The time has come for media isolation,” the artist admits. — It lasted about five years. And it all started with frantic youthful maximalism, bordering on self-confidence. During the period of oblivion, I began to actively work on myself. I stopped liking the reflection in the mirror. After another photo shoot, I looked at the sources and realized: even Photoshop won’t help. The switch clicked - it's time to close your mouth. I love to eat, but at that moment I became too relaxed and began to weigh 106 kilograms. I recorded the song “Invincible” and thought it would be cool to come back with it, having changed in appearance. In four months, through sports and proper nutrition.

I decided not to waste time on pride and complexes - I need to enjoy life here and now!

“Of course, I haven’t appeared on TV channels for a long time, but at the same time I’m an active artist, I have enough concerts,” says Panayotov. - may not seem very true. Why should I take someone else's place? But this year I was a member of the jury at the Igor Krutoy Academy competition in Sochi. It was there that my friends Rita Dakota and Vlad Sokolovsky (participants of the “Star Factory” - Ed.) finally convinced me to send an application to “The Voice”. Come what may! It turned out that they were waiting for me...

Panayotov’s speech is still being discussed. In four days, the video with his number on “The Voice” collected more than a million views.

- When the mentors turned to me - in a cascade, very beautifully, one after another - it was a real explosion of emotions! - the singer admits.

At that moment, Leonid Agutin spread his arms as if he had met best friend. For the first time in graduation, he took off his glasses and waved his hand at Panayotov: they say, everything is clear, what’s really going on here. Polina Gagarina smiled from ear to ear with joy. And Dima Bilan stood up and began to applaud, followed by all his colleagues.

Panayotov has known the current mentor of “The Voice” for a long time. And at the blind auditions she even became indignant: “At least I should have warned you!” Photo: Personastars.com

In addition to high-quality performance, triumph on “The Voice” became a symbol of the artist’s rebirth. Literally.

“This year I,” Panayotov reluctantly recalls. “After that, there was a serious reassessment of values. And I decided: if life is so short, then you can’t waste time on pride, despondency about your own oblivion or complexes. This must be eradicated and at the first opportunity go on stage. So I don’t pay attention to rumors, I understand that after the broadcast they will happen (I’ve already done this to Panayotov. - Author). I want to tell everyone right away: I do not claim laurels or someone else’s place in the sun, but I will work in equal conditions with everyone. In the end, artists who participated in “The Voice” were much more popular than me.

Formally, he was not to blame for that accident. But, no matter how creepy it may sound, it was the accident that became the starting point for the reboot. The accident did not destroy Panayotov, but it helped destroy vanity. This means that someone needed it.

“I was returning by taxi from Yulia Nachalova’s birthday,” the artist recreates that event in his memory. - It was winter. And a car flew into us at full speed head-on. I was sitting in the back seat, ended up in the front seat, and flew over. Cars were wrecked. And I miraculously survived. I was in shock for a couple of weeks; for the first time in my life, I felt apathy. Interestingly, after the accident, the icon that I wore on my chest disappeared. She held on to a strong rope, never coming off. And then it evaporated. Apparently, it served its purpose - it saved me.

Battle with mom's dumplings

Since then, Alexander has become more modest and wiser. Defeats and failures do not provoke attacks on others, but give rise to work on oneself.

“Of course, every artist takes oblivion to heart,” says the newly minted “Voice” participant. — It all depends on the inner core. Now I approach the situation philosophically, trying to find an explanation for each event, delving into myself. I didn’t lower the fee, I have concerts, but I don’t have enough mega-popularity and media coverage. The attention died down. I calmly rethought this and began, for example, to value my loved ones more. And even if the blues overtake me, I try to immediately occupy myself - write music, shoot videos. Creativity saves. I am happy every time I go on stage and every meeting with the audience.

He still lives alone. And only once a year does a mother leave Zaporozhye to visit her beloved son.

“When mom comes to Moscow, it’s the hardest thing,” the vocalist laughs. - This is a battle. She has the idea to feed me, to cram all the pies and borscht into me. No sushi, no cuisine in the world can replace Ukrainian dumplings with sour cream and cottage cheese. And if it’s served with salted cottage cheese, it’s absolutely delicious.

If it doesn’t work out on “The Voice” again, Panayotov will not set fire to his mentors and viewers - he has already lived through the era all-consuming egoism. And he is ready to try his luck on another planet, where his talent will be appreciated.

“I am fascinated by art, cinema, and also space,” the artist dreams. — I like to study outer space, other galaxies, I have read a lot on this topic. There is such a program for a flight to Mars - Mars 2020 - where people were selected for the first flight. So I even registered there. For what? To fly to Mars by paying an entry fee of ten dollars. Only later did I find out that the expedition was irrevocable, and I changed my mind. Although if they built a stage on Mars, I would probably go.

Terrible accident, which Alexander Panayotov got into after Yulia Nachalova’s birthday, became the impetus for him to participate in the show The Voice.

Singer Alexander Panayotov is one of the favorites of the fifth season of the show “The Voice”, airing on Channel One. They predict a landslide victory for him, and some even believe that in 2017 he should become a Eurovision participant.

Alexander himself says that in winter he almost died in an accident. But it was this accident that prompted him to come to the “Voice” show.

"In my case, the impetus was a car accident, after which one cannot survive. I was driving after Yulia Nachalova’s birthday - in winter, it was night. I was sitting in the back seat, not wearing a seat belt. A second - and a blow to the forehead. The car that crashed into us skidded I remember the smoke, the airbags, I flew into the front seat, I wasn’t seriously injured, but at that moment everything turned upside down inside me. It was a small death. I realized how short life is and how much time I’m losing because of this. “Pride, that we urgently need to act,” the singer said.

When the question arose whether to apply for “The Voice,” the singer had no doubts: “I’ve been thinking about it for four years since the launch of this show. It was incredibly important to me what each of the mentors would say - I know everyone, I’m friends with someone ".

Since childhood I have been interested in music. At the age of 7 he entered the humanitarian class of multidisciplinary school No. 62 in Zaporozhye, and when he was 9 years old, he first appeared on the school stage with E. Krylatov’s song “Beautiful Far Away” from the film “Guest from the Future.”

At the age of 10 he entered children's music school No. 3 in Zaporozhye. Studied in youth vocal studio popular music“Youth”, under the leadership of Honored Cultural Worker Vladimir Artemyev (whose pupil is also today famous singer Alyosha).

First public speaking Alexander Panayotov took place on June 1, 1997. It was a concert on the central city square of Zaporozhye, dedicated to World Day child protection. Sasha performed a song from the repertoire of the popular Ukrainian singer Alexander Ponomarev “Z ranku do nochi” (“From morning to night”).

At the age of 15, Alexander Panayotov performed his own repertoire at various competitions. Most famous songs- “Ringed Bird” and “Lite Plank” (“Summer Rain”). The authors of these songs also studied in the youth vocal studio of popular music “Yunost”, under the guidance of Honored Cultural Worker Vladimir Artemyev.

After graduating from secondary and music schools (with honors) Alexander entered the Kiev State College of Variety and Music circus arts per department pop vocals, but did not finish it, because then he was already very actively involved in various music competitions, was passionate about it and didn’t attend college much.

In 2002, Panayotov decided to travel to Moscow in order to try his hand at television project- “Become a Star”, where I reached the final.

Returning to Kyiv, Panayotov entered the Kiev National University of Culture and Arts and in the same year created the group “Alliance”, in which, in addition to him (the vocalist), 4 more musicians participated. The group enjoys success in Kyiv, performs at prestigious concert venues and in nightclubs. Alexander and his team celebrated New Year 2003 working for the German and foreign public in Berlin.

In 2003, Panayotov tried his luck again in television competition“People’s Artist (reality show)”, held on the Rossiya TV channel. In the final of the competition, Alexander Panayotov took second place and signed a seven-year contract with producers Evgeny Fridland and Kim Breitburg.

Alexander Panayotov - On the edge (People's Artist - 2003)

Since 2005, Panayotov has been participating in Russia’s selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, but he has not been able to win this competition.

In 2005, in a duet with Alexey Chumakov, he took second place in the open selection of the First Channel with the song “Balalaika”, in 2007 the duet became second in the closed selection with the song “Not Mine”, and in 2008, already on the Rossiya TV channel, Alexander lost just one point for Dima Bilan with the song “Crescent and Cross”.

Since March 2011, at the end of a seven-year contract with FBI Music, Alexander Panayotov has become an independent artist.

Alexander Panayotov is well known in Russia, Ukraine, the CIS and Baltic countries. For the last nine years, the artist has been living and working in Russia, and has also been successfully touring in Russian regions, in Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltic states, Israel, the USA, Spain, Germany, France and other EU countries.

On August 19, 2016, the artist released a new dance track. Alexander Panayotov presented new single"Intravenous." Traditionally, the author of the music was Panayotov himself, and the text was written in creative tandem with a talented vocalist and author, lead singer of the group N.A.O.M.I. - Arina Rits and a young lyricist from Novosibirsk - Evgeny Bochkarev.

On September 23, 2016, he participated in the blind auditions for the 5th season of the show “The Voice”. All the mentors turned to him, Alexander made a choice in favor.

Now everyone's attention is on it. The star of “People’s Artist,” who was remembered and loved, disappeared from the television screen for a long time. His triumphant return, when all four mentors turned to the singer at the first stage of the show, caused a wide resonance. While some are rooting for Sasha and sincerely wish him victory, others are just as sincerely outraged that an accomplished artist is competing with unknown singers. Alexander told what he thought about this, and who gave him a slap on the head, forcing him to try himself in blind auditions.

Alexander, many famous singers come to Golos after persuasion from family and friends. How was it for you?

On the contrary, many people dissuaded me. All I heard was: “Are you crazy? Where are you going? This is a step back!” Some of my colleagues and friends said this not even to me personally, but behind my back. Of course, I had my doubts myself. At night I lay awake, wondering whether I should try out for “The Voice” or not? And then it happened in my life terrible event, which turned my worldview upside down.

The accident in February of this year?

Yes. I was returning home by taxi. We were driving along a slippery road at night and it was snowing. Due to poor visibility, the oncoming car did not notice our car and flew into us at full speed. The blow was so strong that I flew forward. Thank God, the back of the front seat partially softened the blow. The car tossed and we overturned. I woke up in the front seat, my forehead pressed against the airbag. They don't survive such accidents. And I not only survived, but also escaped with a slight fright - not only did I not receive any fractures, there were not even abrasions. As they say, he was without a single scratch. But it was at that moment that I realized: life is so short, so unexpected! Everything can change literally in a second. It was a slap on the head that was given to me from above. And I thought, “What the hell? There is a wonderful project on the main channel of the country, where you need to sing on stage, where there is live sound and a real orchestra! And I have a voice. And why not try yourself in it?” The next day I sent my notes. I no longer had any doubts.

All four mentors turned to you. Do you think they found out?

It seemed that Leonid Agutin did not recognize him. Grigory Leps might not have recognized him, simply because we had not communicated with him for about ten years. Polina found out, Dima probably did too. We're friends. And I value this friendship. And I don't hide it. Another question is that after submitting the application, I did not call anyone and, of course, did not ask for anything. It's just not my style. I purposefully hid from everyone what day I would perform at the blind audition. Only my mother knew. When all four mentors turned to me, and in such an amazing cascade, I was simply happy!

Now many fans of the show are outraged that you, an accomplished artist, came to “The Voice”.

The rules do not prohibit this. The voice project is international. In many countries where it is also going on, this situation has happened, more than once. For example, now in the American version the girl who played the main role in “Curly Sue” won. Everyone knew her. Having disappeared from the sight of fans for 15 years, she triumphantly returned. I identify with the voice. No matter how pretentious it may sound, many say: “Panayotov is equal to the voice.” And from this point of view, the project is, as they say, “mine”. All these years I have been invited to many vocal shows, including ones similar to “Just the Same.” But this is a little not my thing. I think when I relax and rest on my laurels, it will be possible to try myself in such shows. But I'm not ready yet.

How are you feeling now? How do you feel being at the peak of popularity again?

I'm incredibly happy that I'm in the project. You know, Lately I started counting the appearances on stage... If earlier there were 15-20 concerts a month, there were tours, then everything became different. I continued to perform, but there were much fewer concerts. And it tormented me. You can't imagine how hard it is for creative person to be in oblivion and not see the audience, not hear applause... For all artists, this is a kind of drug that none of us can refuse. I'm glad it's all back. I really hope that this will continue to be the case in the future.

Singer Alexander Panayotov told how he decided to take part in the project and what he lived before.

Last Friday was marked for 32-year-old Alexander Panayotov triumphant return to the stage. During the "blind auditions" young man Four mentors turned at once, but Panayotov chose Grigory Leps as a teacher.

He commented on his performance in the new season of the show “The Voice” in the following words: “It was not an easy decision. To reset everything that happened “before” in order to multiply what, I hope, will happen after. Thank you very much to everyone who had a hand, heart and soul in this decision. Thanks to those who gave me a chance to stand on this stage and sing... sing like the first time and last time.. unforgettable sensations and emotions from what I experienced while there. All in the name of music and art! In the name of good! Thank you,” said Alexander. In a matter of days, Panayotov managed to win not only the love of the audience, but also the condemnation of ill-wishers who believe that the artist has nothing to do in the project. Grigory Leps’s ward holds a different point of view and treats this kind of criticism with understanding.

“The voice project is international. In many countries where it is also going on, this situation has happened, more than once. For example, now in the American version the girl who played the main role in “Curly Sue” won. Everyone knew her. Having disappeared from the sight of fans for 15 years, she triumphantly returned. I think when I relax and rest on my laurels, it will be possible to try myself in such shows. But I’m not ready yet,” says Alexander. The terrible accident that happened in February of this year taught the artist not to be afraid to take risks and achieve his goals, no matter how difficult they may seem.

“I was returning home by taxi. We were driving along a slippery road at night and it was snowing. Due to poor visibility, the oncoming car did not notice our car and flew into us at full speed. The blow was so strong that I flew forward. Thank God, the back of the front seat partially softened the blow. The car tossed and we overturned.
