Mysterious Mayan Crystal Skulls

I have already mentioned how they were found crystal skulls in one of the old articles, but now the topic has been continued.

An ancient Mayan legend tells that 13 crystal skulls were brought to Earth, capable of preventing planetary disasters. The next catastrophe is precisely scheduled for December 2012.

According to legend, 4 civilizations have already died on Earth. The first were the giants, who were destroyed by water. All the people of the second civilization were destroyed by a kite, turning them into monkeys. And only two were saved by a miracle - a man and a woman. The third civilization was destroyed by heavenly fire, despite the spiritual purity of its inhabitants, who ate only fruits. And the entire population of the fourth civilization died of hunger. You and I are representatives of the fifth civilization, that is, we live under the fifth sun. The end of our world must come from the shaking of the Earth, which will destroy all life.

Indian calendar Mayan starts from 08/13/3114 BC. before December 21, 2012, if converted to Gregorian chronology. As accompanying documents, the calendar is accompanied by so-called Codes, which contain many predictions. It was in these works that the 13 crystal skulls were first mentioned, the history of which dates back to the time when 12 planets were inhabited in our system. So the inhabitants of these planets passed it on to the Atlanteans, and they, in turn, passed it on to the Mayan Indians.

Scientists ignored this information until the first one was found. crystal skull. It was found by an expedition sent in 1927 to Central America in search of the disappeared Atlantis. Unexpectedly, scientists discovered in the ruins of the “city of fallen stones” the fragments of an ancient Mayan altar, under which there was a life-size human skull, skillfully made of crystal and carefully polished.

Strange phenomena began to occur to those who touched the skull. In his presence, the expedition members began to see strange dreams, in which the life of the Mayan Indians was presented in great detail.

Later, other people who were nearby began to talk about it. strange find. Psychics and especially sensitive people unanimously claim that crystal skull evokes a special, almost hypnotic state, which is accompanied by unusual sounds, smells and vivid visual hallucinations. At the same time, many of them are visited by visions from the distant past and a strange future.

Researchers attribute to the skulls mystical power, because if you look into their eye sockets for a long time, images of other skulls, bony fingers, distorted faces, stones and mountains appear. At the same time, many hear mysterious sounds, the ringing of silver bells, quiet human voices singing songs in chorus in an incomprehensible language, as well as whispers and strange tappings.

Really, crystal skulls have a noticeable effect on approaching people. At the same time, someone experiences acute discomfort, accompanied by incomprehensible fears, others simply faint or may lose their memory for a while. Although there are certain part People for whom the presence of a crystal skull has a calming effect, some may even experience bliss. Maybe the facts of recovery from severe and chronic diseases after touching the Mitchell-Hedges skull belong to these people.

"Mitchell-Hedges" underwent serious research in the early 60s of the last century and discovered a whole system of optical lenses, prisms and strange channels that create unusual optical effects. Scientists were also amazed that no traces of processing were visible on the perfectly polished surface of the crystal skull, even under a powerful microscope.

Further results of the experts led to general shock. Research in 1964 proved that crystal skull made in those distant times when no civilizations existed in this part of America. In addition, rock crystal crystals of this type High Quality are not found at all in this area. And the relic product is made of a single crystal, which contradicts all the laws of physics.

Intrigued by the discovery, historians found ancient Indian legends that mentioned 13 crystal skulls of the “Goddess of Death.” According to them, the skulls were kept in different places on the Earth under the watchful supervision of priests and specially selected warriors. Thirteen dedicated clerics were simultaneously required to look into the eye sockets of their skulls to communicate with each other and receive information about past times, present and future events.

According to legends, the priests saw the time when the gods would return to Earth, led by Kukulkan himself. It was this white-skinned and bearded “god from Venus” who descended from heaven to give the Indians writing, astronomy, mathematics and a calendar. With its help, they learned to build cities and get rich harvests.

In addition to the American continent (finds were in the USA, Brazil and Mexico) crystal skulls were discovered in Europe (France) and Asia (Mongolia and Tibet). There are more than 13 of them in total, but many are not in as perfect condition as the Mitchell-Hedges, which suggests they are fakes. They belong to more late period and not as ideal as “given by the gods.”

Along with scientists, some secret societies became keenly interested in ancient relics. This, for example, is evidenced by the fact that in Honduras the “Rose Quartz” skull was stolen right from under the noses of archaeologists. The investigation established that before his disappearance, priests of a secret cult tried to kidnap him several times.

Such serious government structures as the German society Ananerbe were also interested in the mysterious capabilities of artifacts. Back in 1943, after an attempt to rob a museum in Brazil, his agents were detained, who did not hide the fact that their special task was to find, seize and transport the crystal skulls of the “Goddess of Death” to Germany. The question arises: why does one of the most secret institutions of Nazi Germany need Indian artifacts so much?

The answer is simple. The Third Reich had the goal of conquering not only the Earth, but also power in another world, so emissaries of the SS Research Institute of the Ananerbe Order (translated as “Heritage of the Ancestors”) scoured the world in search of magical objects. The head of the order was SS Gruppenführer Karl Maria Willigute, a descendant of an ancient magical family. He was convinced that the methods of the priests of Atlantis, the forerunners of the Aryan race, would not only create a new type of superhumans, but also, with the help of magic, subjugate all other “subhumans.”

Currently, it is believed that previously found crystal skulls originally from Atlantis, who miraculously survived the disaster. One of the authoritative researchers, Frank Joseph, wanted to know who the ancient "Mitchell-Hedges" could belong to. Two independent research groups: the New York police laboratory and psychics came to a unanimous opinion - the skull belonged to a young girl. The reconstructed portraits coincided with each other.

But not all skulls belong to the human race. Finds such as "alien skull" and "skull Mayan"contain features that can be seen in programs about UFOs or in certain species of animals. Perhaps they belonged to intelligent species that visited our planet in ancient times? It would be interesting to collect all the crystal skulls together. Maybe they could tell us about the past and help get rid of mistakes in the future.

Mysticism and the unknown always excite and attract us very much. Reading another story about some mysterious thing, we, unbeknownst to ourselves, deep down in our souls hope that we will somehow be able to unravel the secret or at least put forward our own hypothesis. Moreover, the more mysterious the subject of discussion, the more versions we have that we like to sort through in our heads, thinking about how it could really be.

Crystal skulls are just one of these “objects of close attention” of millions of people around the world. The items are so unusual that many popular publications dubbed them “the main find of the 20th century”! Mysterious skulls have truly surprised and intrigued the world! Perfectly polished, crystal clear, shining in the dark. The true origin of the skulls is still shrouded in mystery. There is something about them that causes shock, awe and admiration.

How were crystal skulls found?
Reports of crystal skulls began to appear in the world press around the mid-19th century. Pre-Columbian values immediately aroused great interest among wide audience. The first crystal skull was discovered in 1927. Found this one mysterious artifact the famous English archaeologist and traveler F. Albert Mitchell-Hedges, when traveling through Central American cities. More precisely, not even him, but his beautiful assistant. But first things first.

Mayan Crystal Treasures

In order to truly understand how amazing these strange crystal or, as they also say, crystalline skulls with inexplicable powers are, you need to dive a little into history and briefly travel to the habitats of the ancient Mayan civilization. It was no coincidence that the famous scientist traveled to these stunning lands, where the well-known Mayan Indians lived many centuries ago. Three years before the discovery, clearing began ancient city Mayan, who hid among the tropical jungles of the Yucatan Peninsula. Here, in an emerald paradise, in the midst of abundant wet vegetation, hidden unique ancient structures created by the hands of the Mayans. To speed up the search process, they decided to simply burn the tropical jungle. Fantastic structures were discovered in the ashes of the forest - stone pyramids, preserved walls of ancient cities. The Mayans even had their own amphitheater! Mitchell-Hedges began to call the found settlement “the city of fallen stones.” That's what it's called to this day. Along with the scientist on the expedition was his 17-year-old daughter Anna, who one day discovered a transparent crystal skull while walking among the ruins of one of the ancient Mayan altars.

It was a one-to-one scale human skull, made of crystal clear quartz, surprisingly perfectly polished. There was one significant drawback to the find - the skull was missing a lower jaw. But the value of the skull did not decrease. And the missing jaw was found nearby, safe and sound, 3 months later. The crystal jaw was suspended on special hinges made of the same crystal, and moved as soon as it was touched, which looked very believable.

Strange things at every turn

It must be said that from the very first hours of their acquaintance with this find, the members of the expedition realized that they had encountered something incredible and mystical, a fantastically unusual object. Everyone who touched and looked at real crystal skulls felt that something inexplicable had entered their lives. The first strange things began to happen to Anna. On the very first evening, as she was getting ready to go to bed, she placed the crystal skull next to her bed and immediately fell asleep. Imagine her surprise when, waking up in the morning, she realized that all night she had been dreaming about the ancient Mayans! The dreams were so vivid and believable that Anna even doubted whether they were dreams? Clear and incredibly naturalistic pictures of the everyday life of the Indians appeared before her, which she could not see anywhere before. Her father, professor and archaeologist Albert Mitchell-Hedges, was shocked at how authentic his daughter’s “dreams” were, since he was well aware of the historical facts of that era. A 17-year-old girl simply could not come up with such a thing and did not previously have such knowledge. Interestingly, it was only the next day that it dawned on the members of the expedition that it was the crystal skull that had such an influence on the consciousness of the sleeping girl! They decided to continue the amazing experiment, and the girl fell asleep every evening, looking at the miracle find, stroking the perfectly polished surface. And every morning she woke up and told more and more details about the life of the ancient Mayans. All the stories shocked Mitchell-Hedges with their accuracy and consistency historical events. Moreover, when the girl slept not next to the skull, but at a great distance from it, the prophetic dreams immediately stopped. But as soon as the incredible find was next to Anna, the dreams continued. According to her, the dreams were full-fledged color films with absolutely realistic events and a sound component. The mystical crystal repeater transmitted “films” about the daily life of the Mayan Indians, demonstrating ancient rituals of sacrifice and the life of the ancient dwellings of the “city of fallen stones.”

More than three decades passed before the crystal skull fell into the hands of an international team of researchers. All this time, the find was kept in the Mitchell-Hedges family, and only after the death of her father Anna was able to transfer the skull into the hands of other scientists. Neither she nor her father could find a reliable answer to the question of the origin of the Mayan crystal treasures. The fact is that their polishing was so skillful and perfect that it is incredibly difficult to perform even in modern conditions using high-precision grinding equipment. How could the Mayans, who lived a thousand years earlier, do this?

Experienced scientist Dordland found that a whole system of lenses with built-in prisms and channels was embedded in the crystal skull, which, apparently, created the fantastic effects that the archaeologist’s daughter Anna Mitchell-Hedges experienced. A prism located at the base of the back of the skull reflects any light entering the mysterious structure through the eye sockets. The fact that scientists could not find any traces of processing of the skull was absolutely amazing! The studies were carried out using microscopes and other high-precision optics - no traces of grinding were found. It gave the complete impression that the object was cast from liquid quartz. But how? Taking into account a completely unique system of prisms and lenses? The creation technology used is clearly of unearthly origin.

Fantastic research results
Professor Dordland was advised by the then widely known Hewlett-Packard company, which produced quartz oscillators in 1964 and was a leading expert in the properties of quartz minerals.
The results of the examination shocked first scientists and then the entire society. It was first established that the age of the skulls far exceeds the age of human civilizations that lived on Earth. Another interesting fact– There are no rock crystal deposits on the North American continent. Moreover, mineralogists immediately stated that rock crystal of such the highest quality simply does not exist on our planet! The researchers' discovery was truly shocking: the skull was made from whole piece crystal How is this possible given the complex lens system inside it? Such structures cannot be created under the laws of earthly physics.
The crystal skull is created from a single piece of rock crystal, including the lower jaw. If quartz is hard enough, it is impossible to cut it with anything other than diamond. At the same time, absolutely no traces of cutting were found, as noted above, not a single microscopic scratch! Taking into account physical properties quartz, it is not possible to cut a product of such a complex shape - the crystal will simply split. Nevertheless, the crystal skull exists. And it was carried out contrary to all the laws of physics. To this day, scientists have not been able to unravel the technology for creating the skull.

Confirmation of an incredible hypothesis
In the winter of 1994, farmers in American state Colorado discovered a second crystal skull, which was immediately identified and handed over to researchers. What the scientists saw confirmed their wildest hypotheses: the crystal skull was crumpled and twisted! It was as if he had been molded from plasticine and crushed. But the technology for creating these items and the authors who made them are still not established. An interesting fact is that it is in the area of this ranch where the deformed skull was found that UFO sightings are regularly observed. In addition, livestock deaths very often occurred on this farm for unknown reasons.

Many historians and ethnographers have struggled with this mystery for years. Puzzled by such an incredible find and inspired by a great desire to unravel it, the researchers began an active search for the remaining Mayan crystal skulls. And soon enough they were found not only in the states, but also in other countries - Brazil, Mexico, France, Mongolia, Tibet. It was possible to discover about three dozen skulls, but none of them could compare with the perfect creation that was found by Anna Mitchell-Hedges. These were crude copies that people apparently tried to create in order to obtain the magical power of the original skulls. Scientists have determined that these are prototypes of a female skull. Some of the skulls found had clearly inhuman anatomical proportions and shapes and rather resembled the heads of aliens.

Hunt for the Crystal Skulls
The more the world learned about the mystical skulls, the more intriguing details surfaced. The magical power of skulls has attracted the attention of not only scientists, but also various representatives of occult communities. A real hunt for crystal skulls began, one after another they began to disappear without a trace. One of the first to be stolen was the “Rose Quartz” skull, which was perfect in shape and very valuable in the world collection of crystal skulls. It was almost as good as the first Mitchell-Hedges crystal skull found. As the custodians reported, representatives of secret societies repeatedly tried to steal Rose Quartz, and in the end they succeeded.

Representatives of the intelligence services of various states also took part in the hunt for Mayan crystal treasures. In 1943, agents of the notorious fascist society Ahnenerbe were detained in Brazil during an attempted kidnapping. As it turned out, entire secret operations were developed and implemented in Hitler’s occult society to search for unique historical objects. Seize absolute power in the real and metaphysical world - was the main objective the Fuhrer, which he strove for regardless of human sacrifices or material costs. The Nazis were in a hurry, at any cost, to take possession of everything that was of value. 50 secret research institutes worked at Ahnenerbe. The Third Reich paid great attention to the secrets of the sunken Atlantis. The Fuhrer's bloodhounds managed to establish a connection between the crystal skulls and the inhabitants of Atlantis, who, according to numerous legends described by the ancient Greeks and Romans, possessed unique magical knowledge and could perform incredible actions - soften stone, desalinate water, etc. Hitler repeatedly stated that the Aryans are descendants of the Atlanteans, and therefore are the “direct heirs” of everything that belongs to them. The Nazis' calculation was that possession of sacred knowledge would provide the Reich with complete control over the world. In search of magical secrets, agents of the Third Reich scoured the world - in Europe and Asia, America and Africa, and also explored the mysterious expanses of Antarctica.

Legends, mysteries and incredible events
Most of all, the Nazis, like all scientists working on crystal skulls, were interested in the question of what exactly they were intended for. Many versions have been worked out - for healing, for clairvoyance, etc. The main information about the properties of skulls came from the owners of mystical objects, who shared what was happening in their lives. One of them is Joan Parker, who was once given one of the crystal skulls by a Tibetan monk. Parker described in detail that he used this item quite successfully for medicinal purposes. After touching the skull, people got rid of incurable diseases, discovered new abilities in themselves and became noticeably rejuvenated. But an interesting fact emerged: the crystal skull did not “allow” all people to approach it. Many who yearned for contact with him were never able to get closer to him. mystical subject, experiencing terrible headaches and other extremely unpleasant sensations. Some of the subjects lost consciousness for a while, and then could not remember the events of the current day. Others, on the contrary, when approaching the skull, experienced an inexplicable and indescribable bliss, instantly being healed from serious illnesses.

Jocque von Ditan is the famous owner of one of the skulls, which was shaped like an alien's head. According to her testimony, she made every effort to take possession of the skull, since she was literally dying from a brain tumor. At the first contact with the Mayan crystal treasure, doctors recorded a reduction in the woman’s cancerous tumor, which disappeared without a trace in just a few days. Since then, Joque von Ditan has not parted with the mystical skull even for a day.

Owners of another famous skull, the British Crystal Skull, have had dreams similar to the “films” of Anna Mitchell-Hedges. Everyone who came into contact with this object fell into a state of trance and saw vivid and very detailed stories about life North American Indians. Moreover, what is most surprising is that the subjects even felt smells and sounds, which, of course, is truly amazing. It is interesting that fantastic sensations and visions were experienced not only by people who were very emotional by nature, but also by quiet and withdrawn people who had never had dreams before or felt strong emotions. The magical power of the crystal skull seemed to open invisible doors in them, through which stormy energy flows began to flow into their aura. The skulls were surprising in their appearance - during the sessions they glowed strangely, and each time differently. Sometimes, out of nowhere, a white mysterious fog formed in them, which slowly spread around, bewitching those watching. Through this fog, people saw mysterious emerald forests, crystal waterfalls and rivers, as well as many other various scenes that overwhelmed a person with gigantic amounts of energy. People who had such an experience, as a rule, radically changed their lives - they became researchers, ethnographers, and devoted all their time to searching for new information about mystical skulls made of pure transparent solid quartz. In one Mayan manuscript, a description was discovered of an ancient ritual in which 13 dedicated guardian priests, located in various parts of the Earth, simultaneously looked into their crystal skulls and thus saw and shaped the future. Also, through such a ritual, priests contacted the gods. For example, with the main Indian god Kukulkan - this is the white-skinned bearded god of the planet Venus, who at one time came down from the sky and gave the Mayan Indians secret knowledge, including writing, mathematical formulas, astronomical knowledge, etc.

In the ancient Mayan manuscripts, we were able to find a record that says that the Indians revered a certain goddess of Death, who was directly related to the 13 crystal skulls. The manuscripts noted that all the skulls were on long distance from each other and were guarded by priests.

As Mayan legends say, all 13 crystal skulls, collected together in one place on a certain day, can usher in a new era of light and prevent the Apocalypse. The remaining Mayans living in Central America still pass this ancient legend on to their children. The Mayans and Aztecs believed that our world was destroyed 4 times, and our current generation is already living under the 5th sun. Under the 1st sun there lived giant people who were destroyed by water. The people who lived under the 2nd sun were destroyed by a kite, turning all the inhabitants of the Earth into monkeys, leaving only one man and one woman. The people of the 3rd world ate only fruits and died from heavenly fire. The people of the 4th sun died of starvation. People of the 5th world will die from strong earthquake, and life on Earth will cease. The same Mayan legends say that 13 crystal skulls appeared back in the days when twelve planets were inhabited, the inhabitants of which transferred the crystal skulls to Earth to the Atlanteans. In turn, the Atlanteans gave the skulls to the Mayans.

All crystal skulls have been studied far and wide by scientists. The researchers, of course, were eager to find out the reason for the magical power of the crystal miracle. Thus, it was possible to discover powerful lenses inside the eye sockets, which were the strongest reflectors. When the skulls were illuminated from below, powerful rays were released from the eye sockets. Dordland, one of the owners of the crystal skull, said that he peered for a long time into the eye sockets of the skull and observed fantastic pictures there, which, as it turned out during their analysis, accurately reflected past events. The researcher saw and completely incredible paintings, which according to the descriptions were more like parallel worlds or pictures of the future. Some contactees also heard sounds, and the sounds were so unusual for our earthly consciousness that many were even speechless for some time from admiration or shock. Dordland noted more than once in his notes that he woke up at night from the screams of Indians, the sounds of the forest, the growls of huge predators and much more.

Another famous researcher, an American named Shapiro, said that one rich gentleman once told him a curious story about how he found a crystal skull among the ruins of one of the most ancient cities of the Mayan Indians. As the wealthy stranger said, during certain rituals the skull helped him achieve his goals, which allowed him to create a powerful business empire. The rich man admitted that this was the first time he shared such sacred information with anyone, but only because the researcher had been searching for information about crystal skulls for many years, and he himself told him a lot of invaluable information. The interlocutors exchanged business cards. A little later, Shapiro decided to contact the lucky owner of the crystal skull to inform him important information and warn against mistakes. But suddenly it turned out that this man had died, and the crystal skull had disappeared without a trace.

Alien Trail
Most scientists immediately began to develop the theory that crystal skulls were used as powerful transmitters or receivers of energy that were created and used by alien intelligence. The characteristics and design of crystal skulls were too incredible and truly unearthly. As we have already said, it is not yet possible for a person to create such a thing. Through a system of prisms, overcoming any temporal and spatial barriers, images and thought forms were transmitted into an unknown space, from where visual and other information came into our world. According to the assumption of many researchers, with the help of such powerful receivers, communication was carried out between the earthly and parallel worlds. Some researchers argue that this can be done today. In any case, experiments with mystical skulls do not stop to this day.

An interesting story is connected with one of the crystal skulls, which bears the name “Max”. Its owner at one time was the psychic Star Johnson, who said that he managed to come into contact with representatives of an extraterrestrial civilization. However, it is almost impossible to verify this information - to do this, you yourself need to enter into communication with aliens with the help of a crystal miracle. The psychic said that upon contact with the skull, the gift of understanding and speaking all languages was revealed to him, and thus he was able to communicate and contact representatives parallel worlds. The medium recorded some fragments of such conversations on his tape recorder. At the same time, outside of contact with the skull, he lost his understanding of alien languages. According to him, most often he was able to communicate with representatives of Atlantis.

The medium Star Johnson, who, according to him, is in contact with the highest civilizations of the Universe, outlined the version of the purpose of crystal skulls he heard from them. It turns out that in crystal skulls, in this complex system of prisms and lenses, full information O ancient civilizations of our galaxy. The most important and most powerful of them is the Crystal Skull “Max”, which stores the entire world history of mankind, as well as information about the history of other planets in the Solar System.

It contains encoded holographic data about the vast chronicles of Atlantis, which can only be read by mediums and mental translators. In the future, humanity must learn to decipher encoded information using crystalline receiving devices. It is recorded on it similarly to records on a computer.

Also, the “Max” crystal skull contains all the information about the Pleiadians and Arcturians, who brought them to Earth at a time when the earthly world knew complete perfection and was a manifestation of the Ethereal Spirit. The Atlanteans also worked with genuine crystal skulls. But in our time, many fakes have appeared that are passed off as originals for the purpose of sale.
According to the medium, genuine crystal skulls were created by an extraterrestrial civilization and represent a prototype of perfect human consciousness.

The "Max" skull contains a model of the 12 layers of DNA of a fully conscious and developed person. The knowledge that is stored in genuine Crystal Skulls is the knowledge of the Universal Mind. There are even more powerful information keepers that contain holographic data about civilizations located outside our galaxy, but the Universal Mind closes this information to harmonious development and the safety of humanity.

Of course, one can be skeptical about legends and stories about crystal skulls, their properties and purposes. But let us remember that the famous and venerable Edgar Cayce reported on crystal skulls long before they were discovered by mankind.

What do crystal skulls remember?
Throughout the time they have been studying crystal skulls, researchers have certainly been working on more mundane versions of their mystical properties. Many mineralologists and crystallographers are still working on a hypothesis that explains all the miracles by the properties of crystals to remember and store information.
Rigid structure, unique spatial crystal lattice can provide everything magical properties crystal skulls. The quartz crystal lattice, like a gramophone record, “records” information and certain circumstances broadcasts it to the contactee.
In addition, crystal particles have the ability to transform into a different energy state, which has not yet been fully studied by scientists. This is the so-called “energetic memory”, which can “fall asleep” and “wake up” when it comes into contact with other types of energies. At this moment, crystal particles emit quanta of light and broadcast what happened to them. In fact, crystals are capable of storing limitless amounts of information.
Crystals have memory in the so-called subtle biofield range; they remember and transmit information. This same property of crystals can provide the mysterious glow of crystal skulls, noticed by all researchers and contactees. Psi-fluorescence is a luminescence process that is completely explainable using the laws of physics.
Be that as it may, the presence of many versions and many years of work by scientists still does not answer the question: “How was it possible to create such a super-complex device?”
Embedded in the crystal skull very complex system lenses with built-in prisms and channels, which, we remind you, are made of a single piece of quartz, contrary to all the laws of physics! Polishing is so skillful and perfect that it is incredibly difficult to perform it even in modern conditions using high-precision grinding equipment, not to mention the Mayans. Under a microscope, not a single scratch is visible that should have been left during cutting. The discovery of a crystal skull in a crushed state confirms the hypothesis that these items were made in a “soft” state of the crystal. Such technologies are unknown to humanity and inexplicable from the point of view of earthly physics.

Crystal Skulls Today

Today there are 13 crystal skulls known to the world.
Nine of them are kept in private collections.
Four crystal skulls are on display at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History in Washington, as well as at the Museum of Primitive Art in Paris and the British Museum in London.
Three of them were found in the jungles of Guatemala by Eugene Boban, an antiquarian and archaeological adviser to the Mexican Emperor Maximilian. After numerous studies, it was found that they were made in the 19th and 20th centuries - these are rather crude fakes of the original. The last 13th skull was found in German Bavaria. It is historically attested that this specimen once belonged to Nazi General Heinrich Himmler. The crystal skull was found in a dusty attic in Himmler's Bavarian home. The artifact was hidden in a leather backpack in old wooden windows.

The world does not forget about crystal skulls - they still excite the minds and excite millions of people. The topic of crystal skulls having supernatural properties is regularly raised in popular culture– in the television series “Stargate” there is an episode “Crystal Skull”. Steven Spielberg recently directed Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The story of the crystal skull is at the heart of the television series The Secret Circle. Mystical crystal skulls are involved in computer games“Corsairs”, “The Chronicles of Sandra Fleming”, “Assasin's creed” and many others. Today they even produce Crystal Head vodka, the bottle of which is made in the shape of the famous crystal skull.

We hope that sooner or later, the secret of the mystical crystal skulls will still be revealed, and humanity will finally learn what is inaccessible to its modern consciousness.

Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull

Mayan crystal skulls were discovered in South America and other parts of the world and for several decades presented an insoluble mystery to scientists. Some consider them to be extraterrestrial artifacts, others linked their origin to Atlantis. Later, information appeared that the skulls were fakes and were of no historical interest.

Find on an ancient altar

Anna Mitchell-Hedges, the adopted daughter of a British archaeologist, celebrated her seventeenth birthday in 1927 festive table, and at excavations ancient temple Maya in the ruins of Luaantuna in British Honduras.

On an ancient altar freed from the ground, the girl discovered a life-size crystal skull made by an unknown craftsman.

The note: “The find has been given three different names – the Mitchell-Hedges Skull, the Skull of Doom and the Skull of Doom.”

Initially, the skull was found without the lower jaw, which was discovered three months later by the same Anna, one and a half meters from the place of the original find.

The jaw was attached to the skull on smooth hinges and when it touched the skull it began to move, creating the impression that the skull was speaking. The weight of the skull was 5.13 kg with dimensions of 197 mm in length, 124 mm in width and 147 mm in height.

Some archaeologists were alarmed by such a find and they repeatedly suggested that the father simply threw in the skull to please his daughter. But the question arises: where did Mitchell-Hedgens himself get it from? Found during excavations or brought from Europe?

Mysterious dreams and phenomena

With the appearance of the crystal skull, according to Anna's stories, she began to have amazing dreams. One day, before going to bed, the girl looked at the find and placed the skull at the head of the bed. That night she had an unusual dream in which she saw in every detail the life of the ancient Indians.

Anna soon noticed a pattern: as soon as the skull was at the head of the bed, she had amazing dreams about the daily life of the Indians, their rituals and sacrifices, life and traditions.

It has been suggested that the skull is a treasure trove of information about the life of the disappeared Mayan Indians. The girl even began to keep a diary in which she described her dreams.

Mysterious phenomena of the skull were also noticed by art critic Frank Dorland. He said that sometimes the skull glowed, images of unfamiliar landscapes and buildings, stones, mountains and distorted faces appeared inside it, and the ringing of bells, tapping, growling of jaguars, whispers and voices of people singing strange songs in a chorus in an incomprehensible language were also heard.

According to some researchers, Mayan crystal skulls are unique amplifiers of human psychic energy. Quartz, due to its structure, has a mysterious effect on the human brain and allows you to travel into the past and future.

Killer Skull

According to Mitchell-Hedges' book "Danger is My Ally", the found crystal skull is at least 3600 years old and according to ancient legend The priests could use it to condemn any person to death. The skull was supposedly the embodiment of universal evil.

After the discovery of the skull, rumors arose that a number of deaths were associated with it. It was not possible to find specific evidence of this in the literature. Perhaps Mitchell-Hedges himself spread the rumors to give his find a mystical touch and attract public attention.

However, the owner of the skull, Anna Mitchell-Hedges, lived happily for 100 years. Here's what she said in an interview in 1970: “Sometimes I sincerely regret that I did not fulfill my father's wish - he wanted me to put a skull in his coffin. This would probably be the most suitable place for such a strange thing, because in the wrong hands it will begin to do evil.”

Studying the Artifact

In the 1960s, after the death of her father, art historian Frank Dorland persuaded Anna Mitchell-Hedges to allow scientists to study the crystal skull. Experts immediately determined that the prototype of the artifact was a real female skull.

Frank Joseph attempted to recreate the image of the lady whose skull served to create a unique piece of rock crystal. To do this, he turned to the New York police laboratory for help, which specializes in reconstructing faces from skulls.

At the same time, Joseph asked a group of psychics to determine the appearance of the owner of such a skull. Surprisingly, the scientific reconstruction and the descriptions received from psychics practically coincided. It turned out that the prototype of the crystal skull was the skull of a young Indian girl.

Frank Dorland asked his friend L. Barre, who worked at the famous Hewlett-Packard company in Santa Clara (California, USA), to study the mysterious skull. The company's quartz experts were shocked. According to them, such a product simply could not exist in reality: the piece of rock crystal from which the skull and jaw were cut consisted of three or four splices and should have fallen apart at the initial stage of processing. Moreover, even if there is modern technologies It is not yet possible to produce such a product. According to experts, it would take seven million hours to polish such a skull. At the same time, it is striking that no traces of mechanical processing were found on the crystal skull.

At the end of the study, engineer L. Barre made the following conclusions: “We studied the skull along three optical axes and found that it consists of three to four joints... Analyzing the joints, we discovered that the skull was cut from one piece of crystal along with the lower jaw. On the Mohs scale, rock crystal has a high hardness of seven (second only to topaz, corundum and diamond), and it is impossible to cut it with anything other than diamond.

But the ancients somehow managed to process it. And not only the skull itself - they cut out the lower jaw and the hinges on which it was suspended from the same piece. Given the hardness of the material, this is more than mysterious, and here’s why: in crystals, if they consist of more than one intergrowth, there are internal stresses. When you press the head of a cutter on a crystal, the stress can cause it to break into pieces... But someone made this skull from one piece of crystal as carefully as if they had not touched it at all during the cutting process. We also discovered a kind of prism cut into the back of the skull, at its base, so that any ray of light entering the eye sockets would be reflected there. Look into his eye sockets and you can see the whole room in them."

The Legend of the 13 Crystal Skulls

It turns out that the Nazis were well aware of the crystal skulls. There is a mention that in 1943, agents of the German Ahnenerbe society were captured in Brazil, trying to penetrate one of the local museums. During the interrogation, it was found out that the purpose of the German secret operation was to search for and deliver crystal skulls to Germany.

There is a legend about the 13 crystal skulls, according to which there were thirteen crystal skulls of the “Goddess of Death” , which contained all the knowledge of the world from its origin to the distant future. These skulls were kept separately from each other, each of them was looked after by special priests who were fluent in martial arts and were able to protect the relics from any attacks. The legend said that when humanity is on the verge of death, all thirteen skulls will come together and give people information that will save them.

At first there were twelve skulls. In the spring of 2011, news spread throughout the world about the thirteenth skull discovered in a cache in the attic of an old house in Bavaria (Germany). A version immediately appeared that the skull belonged to one of the Nazi leaders, Heinrich Himmler.

Artifact or fake

In addition to the skull of Anna Mitchell-Hedges, another crystal skull has been kept in the British Museum since 1898. This skull is monolithic and, unlike Anna’s skull, does not have a separately made lower jaw. According to the original version, this skull was brought to Europe in the 1860s by a Spanish officer from Mexico. According to experts, the skull is female and in its parameters is almost comparable to real skulls and is made in life size.

In 1996 and 2004, the crystal skull from the British Museum was carefully studied by scientists from the universities of Cardiff and Kingston. The results of examining the skull using an electron microscope and X-ray spectroscopy showed that it was presumably made in Europe using jewelry tools late XIX century. Its surface was treated with a rotating circle with diamond and corundum chips.

Anna Mitchell-Hedges's crystal skull has also been criticized. According to archaeologist Norman Hammond, the holes in the bottom of the skull were made with a high-speed metal drill. This conclusion was also supported by Professor R. Distelberger from the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. Anthropologist Jane McLaren noted that this skull completely lacks features characteristic of sculptural images Aztecs, Mayans and the cultures that preceded them. In 1982, after careful examination, Professor R. Distelberger concluded that the skull was a fake.

It is believed that Mitchell-Hedges bought the crystal skull in 1943 at Sotheby's for £400. This item was put up for auction by antique dealer Sidney Burney, who owned it since 1933. The antiquarian has no information about where the skull came from.

One of the Mayan mysteries is human skulls carved from crystal, which archaeologists find. Their age cannot be dated, and they themselves were made according to an unknown source. modern science technologies.

Time: 1927. Setting: the territory of the ancient Mayan empire. It was there and then, together with his daughter Anna, that archaeologist F.A. Mitchell-Hedges explored the ruins of the ancient city of Lubaantuna (translated as “City of Fallen Stones”), located in the jungle of British Honduras, until one day, sorting out the rubble on the altar of one of temples, suddenly did not notice an object sparkling among the stones. The archaeologist carefully removed a heavy transparent block from under a pile of rubble, and, looking at his find, gasped: on his palms lay a human skull that looked just like a real one, masterfully carved from a piece of rock crystal.

“Skull of Fate” or “Skull of Death” - that’s what the Mayans themselves called it. In any case, many legends associated with some kind of ritual crystal skull have survived to this day, and there are many reasons to assume that we're talking about specifically about this find. How old are these legends? How old is the skull itself? Nobody can answer this question. Even cautious scientists agree that the age of the strange and scary object is no less than three or four thousand years. But this “no less” may equally also mean “much more”, since in principle it is impossible to determine the age of a product made of natural stone, you can only find out the age of the material itself.

But even if the “Skull of Fate” appeared only a thousand years before Christ, the mysteries it posed are not less. An experienced mineralogist from the well-known Hewlett-Packard company, having carefully studied the find, stated with complete bewilderment:

“Whoever carved this skull had no idea about crystallography and completely ignored the axes of symmetry. The product was bound to fall apart during processing. This unimaginable thing simply should not exist in the world!”

Let me remind you that this was said not just by a person, but by an expert who is not paid money to be surprised. Actually, in his words lies the first mystery of the crystal skull, which caused a lot of headaches to those who tried to solve it. After all, if for a person far from crystallography, the phrase “ignoring the axis of symmetry” sounds more than abstract, then the hair of initiates stands on end and a mystical chill runs through the body.

Any jeweler knows the principles of the internal structure of crystals - without this, he would not be able to process even the smallest stones, constantly risking that they would crumble into dust. Quartz crystals (rock crystal) have increased fragility, and the axis of symmetry is like a rod that holds the entire structure together. Try to touch this rod, and there will be no trace of the crystal left. You can turn to specialized literature to find out exactly why this happens, but it will definitely happen, no matter how many attempts you make and how many crystals you spoil.

That is why the expert from Hewlett-Packard was so amazed, and after him the rest of the mineralogists who had the opportunity to hold in their hands something that was done contrary to the laws of nature. The crystal skull has no right to life, and yet it exists - this is its first mystery.

Art historian and restorer Frank Dorland studied the ancient relic for six years, making discoveries no less amazing than the fact of finding the “Skull of Fate”, until, in the end, he came to the same conclusion as mineralogists: this cannot be, because can never be. Why? Judge for yourself.

As Dorland himself established and as experts later confirmed, all parts of the skull were carved from one single piece of quartz - every single one. Its details are made with great precision, in addition, the lower jaw is movably fixed in polished sockets, so that if the entire structure is suspended in the air, the lower jaw begins to move under the influence of the slightest breath, imitating human speech. But the most interesting and incredible thing: the “Skull of Fate”, made at least 3 thousand years ago from a single piece of crystal without taking into account the axis of symmetry, was, it turns out, carved without the use of metal tools!

Let me explain what this means. As we have already found out, quartz is a fragile material. However, it is not only brittle, but also very hard, having a hardness of 7 out of 10 on the Mohs mineral hardness scale, second only to topaz, corundum and diamond (which has a hardness of 10). Thus, it is not difficult to imagine how many problems jewelers face when working with these super-hard stones. But it is very difficult to imagine the Mayan Indians cutting out a human skull from a single block of quartz 3-4 thousand years ago, observing all its proportions and the smallest details, while ignoring metal tools.

As experts have calculated, polishing the “Skull of Fate” alone should have taken... at least 300 years. But this is only on the condition that the Mayans used the most advanced technology at that time, known only in India and kept in a terrible secret. If not, this procedure would probably drag on for as long. When asked how long it might have taken the Indians to process quartz without using metal, giving it the shape of a skull, scientists completely shrug their shoulders: “This won’t be enough for all the work.” known history humanity."

Known history is not enough. What about the unknown? The same goes for technologies unknown to us, which once allowed not the Indians, but those who were there much earlier, to create this amazing masterpiece. It is difficult to imagine the enormous technical capabilities of that distant people, but it is even more difficult to imagine a semi-wild tribe that every day, year after year, from generation to generation, hammers a piece of rock crystal with a stone, hoping to finally reach the skull.

And this despite the fact that in fact the mysteries of this most unusual find do not end there; I only talked about the two largest ones. Compared to them, it already seems like a relative “trifle”, for example, the fact that inside the skull is such a sophisticated system of lenses, prisms and light guides that it is enough to place a lit candle under it - and thin rays of light begin to shoot out of the empty eye sockets.

Or here’s another strange thing: it has been noticed that the skull is capable of greatly influencing people nearby, even to the point of plunging them into a hypnotic trance. As Frank Dorland wrote about this: “I myself have observed the effect the skull has on impressionable people. Some people's pulse quickens, some feel thirsty, others smell different smells. Some even fell asleep." What is this - random coincidence or another “program” placed in the skull during manufacturing?

Either way, the crystal skull ranks high on the list of unexplained finds. It is impossible to determine its age, nor its origin and method of manufacture. And since now not a single most skilled craftsman on the planet, even if he had the most perfect instruments could not repeat this achievement of the ancient craftsmen, the “Skull of Fate” of the ancient Mayans can be safely attributed to the material evidence of a disappeared highly developed civilization.

By at least, until someone has other, more convincing assumptions on this matter.

Crystal skulls, made with great skill, are a unique phenomenon of the Mayan cultural mystery. Even in ancient times, Mayan priests used them for their mysteries as a symbol of power over otherworldly forces. In the minds of the Indians, these skulls were the materialized embodiment of evil, which the priests used magic to keep in obedience. Museums around the world have collected many sculpted skulls of various shapes and colors, ranging in size from very small to life-size. Among them there is a truly legendary skull, which is considered one of the most mysterious objects of antiquity. It is known as the Mitchell-Hedges skull, named after the English traveler and adventurer Frederick Mitchell-Hedges who found it. This skull has given rise to much speculation regarding its origin, age, method of manufacture, and astonishing effects on the human psyche.

Frederick Albert Mitchell-Hedges

The story of the discovery of this crystal skull, surrounded by an aura of mystery, is no less fascinating. Frederick Mitchell-Hedges, a lover of thrills and adventure, traveled all over the world. His expeditions were supported by both private investors and museums, to which he donated the exhibits he found. Hedges was obsessed with finding the lost Atlantis, which he believed was once located off the coast of Honduras. He believed that when Atlantis sank, a small number of people survived and from them arose the great Mayan civilization. The search for the lost Atlantis led Hedges in 1924 to Central America, to the jungles of the Yucatan Peninsula, which at that time was British Honduras, and now Belize.

The expedition began work to clear an ancient Mayan city in the tropical rainforest. To facilitate excavations, 33 hectares of forest were burned, hiding barely visible ancient buildings: the ruins of a stone pyramid and city walls, a huge amphitheater for thousands of spectators. With the light hand of Hedges, the name Lubaantun was assigned to the ancient settlement, which translated from the Mayan language means “City of Fallen Stones.” Lubaantun was largely unexplored and was potentially considered a treasure trove of ancient Mayan artifacts.

Three years later, Hedges took his adopted daughter Anna on his next expedition. In April 1927, on her seventeenth birthday, Anna, under the rubble of an ancient altar, discovered a skillfully made life-size skull, which was carved from a single piece of almost perfect quartz and beautifully polished. His weight was 5.13 kg. He was missing his lower jaw, which was found three months later, eight meters from where the skull was found. It turned out that this crystal piece is suspended on perfectly smooth hinges and fitted so well that it begins to move at the slightest touch and can move as if the skull were talking.

Mayan artifacts made from crystal were extremely rare, and the crystal skull was unique. But Mitchell-Hedges did not say a word about him in public, which was uncharacteristic for such a man so hungry for fame.

It is said that strange things began to happen to those who came into contact with the crystal skull. This happened for the first time with Anna. One evening she placed this amazing find next to her bed, and all night she had strange dreams about the life of the Indians thousands of years ago. When the skull was removed at night, the dreams stopped.

None public statements Mitchell-Hedges did not mention this unique find even when he left Lubaantun in 1926. The skull was later kept secretly in England, where Hedges and Anna returned to live. One of the often cited reasons for the secrecy was the need to hide the skull from the sponsors who financed its excavation.

Anna told the world about the skull and made it a worldwide sensation when she was already over fifty. After the death of her adoptive father, Anna considered selling the skull. But experts doubted its authenticity because the find was not documented and some found its history suspicious. To verify the authenticity of the skull, Anna decided to hand it over to specialists for examination.

Art historian Frank Dordland began studying the artifact. Upon careful examination, he discovered inside the skull a whole system of lenses, prisms and channels that create unusual optical effects. When a light beam is directed into the cranial cavity, the eye sockets begin to sparkle brightly. If you direct a beam of light into the center of the nasal cavity, the skull begins to glow completely, and a bright halo appears around it. Perhaps the skull was used by Mayan priests during ritual ceremonies, when the prismatic “eyes” focused the sun’s rays, causing a sacred tongue of flame to appear from the open jaws.

The researcher was also struck by the fact that no traces of processing were visible on the perfectly polished crystal even under a microscope. “The polish on Mitchell-Hedges's skull is so good that it is difficult to look at under an optical microscope. The light reflects into your eyes because with such a fine polish, it’s like looking into a mirror.”

He could not understand how the ancient Mayans managed to achieve such a smooth crystal surface: “If we exclude the participation supernatural powers, Mayan artisans would have had to polish their crystal skull by hand. For hundreds of years, no matter what changes occurred during this time in social conditions and religion, the artisans would continue their unimaginable work. We can hardly imagine that the work on one thing was passed on from generation to generation for many centuries.”

In 1970, Dordland organized a test at the California crystal physics laboratory of the Hewlett-Packard company, which at that time specialized in the production of quartz oscillators. Research has shown that both parts of the skull were made from one monolithic piece of quartz and carved without taking into account the molecular symmetry of the crystal and the extreme fragility of the material. And this cannot be done without crumbling the crystal, even with the help of a laser. Here's what one of the company's best experts, engineer L. Barre, said about this:

We studied the skull along three optical axes and found that it consists of three to four fusions. By analyzing the joints, we discovered that the skull was cut from one piece of crystal, along with the lower jaw. On the Mohs scale, rock crystal has a high hardness of seven (second only to topaz, corundum and diamond), and it is impossible to cut it with anything other than diamond. But the ancients somehow managed to process it. And not only the skull itself - they cut out the lower jaw and the hinges on which it is suspended from the same piece. Given the hardness of the material, this is more than mysterious, and here’s why: in crystals, if they consist of more than one intergrowth, there are internal stresses. When you press down on a crystal with the head of a cutter, the stress can cause it to break into pieces. But someone made this skull from one piece of crystal so carefully, as if they had not touched it at all during the cutting process.

When examining the surface of the skull, we found evidence of exposure to three different abrasives. Its final finishing is done by polishing. We also discovered a kind of prism cut into the back of the skull, at its base, so that any ray of light entering the eye sockets would be reflected there. Look into his eye sockets and you can see the whole room in them.

The professionals from Hewlett-Packard were left perplexed: “This damn thing simply shouldn’t exist. Those who created it have no idea about crystallography or fiber optics. They completely ignored the axes of symmetry, and this thing would inevitably fall apart during initial processing. It’s impossible to imagine why this didn’t happen.” In their opinion, to achieve such perfection, the skull had to be polished with sand and water for 300 years.

It was extremely difficult to determine the age of the skull, since crystal does not contain carbon, which is usually used to date ancient objects. Scientists looked for clues on the surface of the skull, such as marks from the tools used to carve it. But they did not find a single microscopic scratch from the tools and came to the conclusion that none of the known modern technologies is capable of creating an exact copy of a human skull from a single piece of quartz. They even refused half a million dollars, which were offered to anyone who would make a copy of the crystal skull.

The place where the skull was made also turned out to be a mystery: neither in Mexico nor in all of Central America there is a single deposit of rock crystal. Its only source could only be quartz veins in California, but rock crystal of such high quality is not found in these places at all. The crystal skull stubbornly keeps the secret of its manufacture.

Tests at Hewlett-Packard discovered another feature of the skull - it had piezoelectric properties: if you take a quartz crystal and squeeze it very hard, an electric charge is induced in the crystal. Frank Dordland believed that this crystal could store consciousness due to its piezoelectric properties.

Anna Mitchell-Hedges announced the Hewlett-Packard test as a triumphant confirmation of her skull story. She kept it and began making astounding claims about its abilities, one of them being the ability to predict global catastrophes. Anna went on tour with the crystal skull, and in 1980 she starred in an episode of the television series " Mysterious world Arthur C. Clarke." Anne Hedges died in April 2007 at the age of 100 and insisted until her death that her story of finding the crystal skull was true.

But there is another version of the appearance of the crystal skull. Although Anne claimed to have found the skull herself, according to the British Museum, F. Mitchell-Hedges bought it for £400 at Sotheby's in London in 1943 from the art dealer Sydney Barney.

This may be related to the fact that Mitchell-Hedges does not mention the skull in his newspaper publications about Atlantis, written by him in the 30s of the 20th century. This version is also supported by the absence of photographs of the unusual artifact among the photographs taken during the expedition to Lubaantun. Further evidence that Hedges did not find the artifact in Belize was found in the July 1936 issue of Man magazine, the publication of the Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland. It contained an article about the study of two crystal skulls. One of them was said to be an exhibit of the British Museum, the second was called Barney's skull. The latter was none other than the Mitchell-Hedges skull and apparently belonged to Sidney Barney. Nowhere in the article was it mentioned about Mitchell-Hedges, or did it mention that the skull was discovered in the ruins of the Mayan city of Lubaantun.

In his book Mysteries of the Supernatural, Joe Nickel refers to a letter Barney wrote in 1933 to the American Museum of Natural History. It says: “The rock crystal skull was for several years the property of the collector from whom I bought it, who in turn received it from an Englishman, in whose collection it had also been for several years. I wasn’t able to look further.”

This evidence casts doubt on Hedges' story, but not on the authenticity of the skull itself, for whatever reasons Hedges came up with this unusual story. However, he was no stranger to it. He had a reputation for telling tall tales (including stories about him sharing a room with Leon Trotsky and fighting Pancho Villa).

Many of the supernatural properties and sinister legends associated with the crystal skull originate in Mitchell-Hedges' autobiographical book My Friend Danger. It was in it that the artifact was first called the Skull of Fate. Hedges writes that the skull was used by Mayan high priests in magical rites associated with curses that would bring painful death upon the intended victims. The power of the skull was so great that it alone could cause instant death. Mitchell-Hedges also reports that the skull, which took as much as 150 years to complete, is at least 3,600 years old. Although he provided no evidence to back up his claims, Mitchell-Hedges' claims became part of the Skull of Doom legends. It was rumored that he was carved for hundreds of years to achieve perfect shape: Craftsmen sanded and polished it every day throughout their lives.

Today the skull is kept by Bill Hohmann, who for a long time was the companion of Anna Mitchell-Hedges in her old age.
