Idea #1: Decorating windows with toothpaste

Toothpaste can be used to decorate not only windows, but also mirrors in the house.

The older generation remembers very well that during periods of Soviet shortages, toothpaste was the main tool for creating New Year's decor. They painted it not only on apartment windows, but also on school or kindergarten windows, involving children in this fascinating process. It is worth noting that toothpaste is a universal artistic material that allows you to create several types of painting at once - both ornamental and negative.

In the second type of painting, the design is similar to the image of a photographic film, that is, it is the dark, unpainted places that become the accent. By the way, this is the simplest type of painting that even a child can easily handle. Be sure to involve the kids in the process of creating fabulous pictures on the windows! Another positive point is that after the celebrations are over, you can easily clean the windows from the pattern by simply wiping the glass with a wet cloth. Before you get started, you need to prepare:

  • foam sponge or old toothbrush;
  • a piece of adhesive tape;
  • a bowl;
  • water;
  • scissors;
  • a cloth;
  • pencil;
  • paper.

Procedure

Step-by-step instruction for decorating a window with toothpaste
  • 1. Download several of your favorite New Year’s themes from the Internet. These could be Christmas bells, snowflakes, reindeer, penguins, Christmas trees or Santa Clauses. Print the designs on paper and cut out using scissors. It is better to first prepare stencils with small details by shading with a pencil the places that need to be cut out, so as not to make mistakes in the process.
  • 2. Wet the template with water, immersing it in a bowl for just a couple of minutes. You can also place the template on a flat surface and walk over it with a wet sponge.
  • 3. Stick the template to the selected location on the window glass.
  • 4. Gently blot the paper with dry flannel.
  • 5. Squeeze into a bowl toothpaste and dilute with water until there is liquid sour cream.
  • 6. Take a toothbrush, dip it in the paste, shake it off a little and, running your finger along the bristles, spray the mixture onto the window where the stencil is glued. When the paste evenly covers the window, peel off the paper. The drawing is ready! You can also use a piece of foam sponge for this purpose - soak it in the paste, shake off excess moisture, and then lightly press it onto the glass around the stencil.

If you have at least the minimum artistic skills, you can paint the window manually, but for this purpose you will first have to make yourself a brush. To do this, twist the foam rubber into a tube and wrap it with a piece of tape. It’s better to make a couple of brushes with different diameters in order to paint both large and small parts. Squeeze the paste onto a plate, dip the brush and draw fir branches, snowmen, Christmas tree balls and streamers.

When the paste has dried, take an orange manicure stick or toothpick and scratch small details - dots or stars on balls, eyes on snowmen or needles on spruce paws. Using the same principle, you can create window paintings painted with gouache paints or artificial snow from a can.

Idea No. 2: Snowflake stickers

Children will like handmade snowflakes much more than store-bought ones!

A snowy winter with soft fluffy snowdrifts is the dream of most children and adults. After all, it’s so nice to go sledding, build a snowman, have a snow fight, or go for a walk in the forest! Unfortunately, not every New Year brings us snow, and slush spoils the entire holiday experience. However, you can create a snow whirlwind at home. To do this, you need to decorate the windows with unusual stickers made from PVA glue.

Who would have thought that such simple material Can an unusual decor be created? During the day, while it is light outside, the snowflakes seem almost transparent and do not interfere with the view. But in the evening, when the moonlight or rays of lanterns fall on the window, it sparkles like real frost! By the way, this decoration can last for more than one year - just carefully remove the snowflakes, line them with paper, put them in a box and send them to a dry place until the next New Year. To make snowflakes you need to have:

  • paper or ready-made cardboard or plastic stencils;
  • strong film or paper files;
  • a jar of PVA glue;
  • medical syringe (no needle required);
  • brush;
  • glitter (you can use those used for manicure).

Procedure

Step-by-step instructions for creating and decorating snowflakes
  • 1. Place the stencil inside a plastic file or place it between layers of film. If you don't have a ready-made stencil, choose one to suit your taste, print them on paper and place them in a file.
  • 2. Trace the stencil lines with adhesive mass, squeezing it out of a medical syringe in a thick layer. Correct the drawing with a brush. Important: do not get carried away with making openwork snowflakes! Small details will most likely just blend into the overall mass, so choose patterns with simple lines and large curls.
  • 3. Carefully move the stencil to a windowsill or other place located near heating appliances. Let the drawings dry a little. When the glue becomes transparent, but not completely dry, remove the frozen snowflakes from the film and glue it to the window.
  • 4. To make shiny multi-colored snowflakes, repeat all the manufacturing steps, only sprinkle the workpiece with multi-colored sparkles before sending it to dry.

Traditional decor cannot do without compositions of fragrant pine needles, which fill the house with an incredible aroma. The easiest option is to make small wreaths and hang them on the windows using bright satin ribbons. To make this decoration you need to prepare:

  • spruce branches (you can supplement them with thuja or juniper branches);
  • heat gun;
  • wire (thick and thin);
  • viburnum branches;
  • New Year's balls;
  • beads

Procedure

An example of minimalist window design using pine needles
  • 1. Take two pieces of thick wire and bend them so that you get rings of different diameters (the difference should be about 3-4 centimeters).
  • 2. Wind the rings diagonally with thin wire to make the frame of the future wreath. Make a fastener from a long piece of tape.
  • 3. Separate the branches into bunches and attach them to the wreath, overlapping each other.
  • 4. Add small cones, balls, beads, rose hips or viburnum, attaching the decor with a heat gun.
  • 5. Cut a piece of ribbon and tie a fluffy bow, attach it to the top of the wreath.

By the way, spruce wreaths can not only be hung on the cornice, but also simply placed on the windowsill, and a thick candle should be placed inside such a decoration.

Master class on creating a decorative luminous garland

You can also make an unusual decor from paper cups by making transverse cuts (crosswise) in the bottom with a stationery knife. Then insert the light bulbs into the holes and attach the garland to get original shades. If you don't have suitable paper cups, you can do the same manipulation with plastic cups. Idea No. 12: Panorama with a winter forest and animals

Multidimensional paper panorama for Christmas and New Year

We have already told you how you can create a fairy-tale village or a city sparkling with lights on your windowsill, but the panoramic crafts don’t end there. On the window you can arrange a magical panorama clearing with Christmas trees and animals. You will need it for work.

Many details help create the right New Year's atmosphere: a decorated Christmas tree, garlands on the windows, New Year's figurines, artificial snow. But you can please yourself and those around you in another way - by drawing various patterns, figures, or even entire scenes on the New Year’s window. Then a special mood is created not only inside the room, but also outside. Such a drawing will definitely attract the attention of passers-by and will receive a response in the form of a smile.

Create your own New Year's tale on the window you can use different materials. The main condition is that in the future the drawing must be washed off well, otherwise the snowmen and snowflakes will remain on the window forever.

What to draw on windows New Year's drawings? Most often these are the following materials:

  • paints (gouache or watercolor);
  • stained glass;
  • toothpaste;
  • markers.

The most popular option is gouache. With its help you can create bright pictures, the paint fits well on the surface of the window, and is also easy to wash off. The downside of this option is that the gouache can roll off.

To avoid rolling, you should add a little soap solution to the gouache or, before applying paint to the brush, the latter should be barely wetted in water.

Toothpaste is often used to draw on the window. With its help, the effect of a frozen surface or frost is created. This picture is also easy to wash off with water. But the image will be monochromatic, which can be a minus for those who like bright drawings. Sometimes dyes are added to toothpaste, but still the effect is not the same as that of gouache.

Toothpaste drawings look especially impressive at night, when the contrast between the dark surface and the white image is clearly visible.

Special markers will also help you draw what you want. They will be easy to wash off later, which cannot be said about simple markers.

Having decided on suitable materials, you can begin to study the technology of image application.

How to draw patterns on a window for the New Year

If artistic talent If you let us down and you can’t paint a full-fledged New Year’s picture on the window, you can limit yourself to beautiful patterns. They will create the effect of a frozen window, which is especially important if the winter has not brought you snow.

All of the above materials are suitable to create such an image. If paints are chosen, it is important to note that it is better to use a white shade.

If you want to get a delicate, sophisticated design, you should use a thin brush. If you need to apply a large pattern, a small soft sponge will do.

The technology of drawing depends on the skills of the master. If a person draws well and knows how to correctly arrange objects on the canvas - window, then you can start creative process without special preparation.

You should put in front of you:

  • paints, toothpaste or marker;
  • a brush or sponge (if a marker is used, nothing is needed);
  • soft cloth to remove imperfections.

To make the pattern delicate and sophisticated, you need to apply paint to the brush not directly from the jar, but first transfer it to the palette.

Here's how to draw winter patterns step by step:

  • use a brush to make chaotic sketches - waves;
  • draw curls on each “branch” of the pattern:
  • use a thicker brush to make the patterns more massive.

It is very convenient to use a toothbrush. It will help create carved patterns on the window.

If you don’t have enough imagination to come up with a New Year’s composition, then it’s appropriate to use templates. They can be found on the Internet, printed on paper and cut out. Then such a template needs to be attached to the window and outlined with a brush with paint. Paint the space inside it.

There are also special stencils that will allow you to depict any pattern on the window without much difficulty. How to draw patterns on a window for the New Year using them?

Everything is very simple:

  • the window needs to be washed;
  • place the stencil on the surface and press well so that it does not move;
  • take a brush, cup or marker and trace the pattern inside the stencil, and then shade it;
  • using a wooden stick (the kind you can find in manicure kits) to draw details or remove imperfections.

Using a stencil you can get at least beautiful patterns, if you use artificial snow in cans. To do this, you need to attach a stencil to the window and apply artificial snow to it. Then you should remove the template, and a snow-white pattern will remain on the window.

The patterns can be successfully combined with other New Year's elements, for example, with Father Frost and the Snow Maiden.

How to draw Santa Claus and Snow Maiden on the window, ideas with step-by-step description

If you want to depict a full-fledged composition, then it will be useful to learn how to draw Father Frost and the Snow Maiden on the window. Such characters will definitely appeal to both children and adults. They will look impressive in any technique and using any materials. It should be noted that such a task cannot be called too simple. Father Frost and Snow Maiden have many important attributes and outfit elements that must be drawn.

Some ideas with step by step description are presented below.

The first option is for those who prefer to paint with paints. In order to depict the Snow Maiden, you will need a few colors: blue, white, yellow and a little red.

First you need to draw a sketch. To do this, take a thin brush. It is important to carefully draw every detail so that the granddaughter of Santa Claus looks like herself.

Then, changing colors, decorate the sketch. Add color to your face with special care. You can easily make a mistake in this zone and it will “float.”

Santa Claus needs to be drawn in a similar way:

  • draw a silhouette;
  • make marks where the hat and bag will be located;
  • draw facial features, legs, arms;
  • You also need to remember about the beard and staff - important attributes of Santa Claus.

The thinner the brush for painting, the better the details will be drawn.

The second option involves the use of markers. They can also be colored, but a simple white option is also possible.

Just like using paints, you first need to draw a sketch. In this case, it will be more difficult to do this, because the “nose” of the marker is thicker than the brush. Therefore, it is preferable to choose more simple images Santa Claus and his granddaughter.

The step-by-step process of applying a pattern to a window is presented below:

The last option will be useful for those who are far from fine art. Paper templates or special stencils will help you draw the main New Year's heroes. The algorithm of actions will be elementary: you need to attach the stencil to the window and trace it. Color it at your discretion and the drawing is ready.

Paper templates combined with artificial snow will also give the desired result.

What to draw on the window for the New Year, ideas step by step

Everyone who wants to do this kind of creativity for the first time is wondering what to draw on the window for the New Year. Don't stop your imagination; ideas can be very diverse.

The following can “settle” on the surface of the window:

  • New Year's cartoon characters;
  • Christmas tree decorations, balls, garlands;
  • snowmen, decorated Christmas trees;
  • Happy New Year wishes, New Year quotes;
  • snowflakes, bells, crackers, etc.

For example, you can draw a Christmas tree. Who hasn’t drawn this forest beauty at least once in their life? The subject is known to everyone, which means the drawing will be successful.

It is best to use paints. This way you can draw details more accurately.

The process is carried out step by step as follows:

  • first take a thin brush and draw a triangle;
  • branches should extend from it;
  • each branch must be designed so that it hangs realistically;
  • draw stars, garlands, balls.

For convenience, you can first apply a drawing in one color, and then color all the elements according to the type of coloring.

You can choose a more abstract option. Then you won’t have to draw out every needle, but the result will also be worthy.

The classic version of the New Year's pattern on the window is snowflakes. They are directly associated with the holiday, giving a positive festive mood and comfort. You especially need to resort to such a pattern when there is no snow outside the window, but you really want a winter atmosphere.

Then you should turn on your imagination and think about what a snowflake should be like. You can draw it step by step like this:

  • draw “rays”: some are longer, and some are shorter;
  • add a shape to each “ray” to make the snowflake three-dimensional;
  • Fill the middle of the picture with paint.

To implement the idea, paints, toothpaste, and a marker are suitable.

Having drawn one snowflake, you want to complement it with several more. This creates a whole picture of their snowflakes.

It is important to draw them differently so that the image turns out original.

Another option is fabulous New Year's heroes.

It could be:

  • snowman;
  • bunny;
  • The Snow Queen;
  • fox, etc.

For children, a simple window painted in this way will become the entrance to fairy world. They will definitely appreciate the efforts of adults. But they still have to be applied to make the characters realistic. To do this, you can first print out an example - a sample and, based on it, depict some hero.

The bunny will turn out to be very realistic if you use this step-by-step diagram:

  • first draw one smaller oval (head), one larger one (torso) and a circle (thigh);
  • then draw the paws, ears and tail;
  • don't forget about socks and eyes.

You can dress a bunny in a New Year's hat, for example.

There will be no difficulties with drawing a snowman on the window. The step-by-step process is as follows:

Drawings in gouache, watercolor

Every schoolchild and aspiring artist has a set of gouache. It is recommended to start with this material if you have no skills in drawing on glass. Watercolor and oil are much more difficult to use; it is advisable to have some experience. It is recommended to immediately put the gouache of the desired tones in small jars and drip a little liquid soap. The paint will lie denser, more evenly, and it will be easier to clean the windows. You will also need:

  • cotton wool or cloth, napkins;
  • a jar of water;
  • brushes of different sizes;
  • stencil (or different stencils);
  • paper tape.

It is not necessary to use templates; you can decorate the window right away, especially if you plan to apply a simple pattern. It is recommended to first sketch more complex images using a stencil or a thin brush in order to be able to correct flaws. Stencils should also be used when applying symmetrical patterns, identical pictures on different windows.

The procedure is as follows:

  • wash the glass and dry it;
  • attach the stencil to the window, choose the ideal position;
  • secure the template with paper tape;
  • draw empty areas inside the template with gouache;
  • wait until the paint is completely dry;
  • remove the stencil;
  • carefully paint on the necessary details, erase the strokes that spoil the picture.

Snowflakes are painted with white paint, and bright New Year's decorations are painted with colored paint. By the way, small templates like snowflakes can not be glued to tape, but simply wetted, applied to the glass, sketched, and then removed. Afterwards, on the white snow, it is permissible to draw patterns with a brush in silver, gold, if you have the appropriate gouache.

Toothpaste drawings

Then you can paint with paste like paint by hand, or using templates. The thicker the mixture, the neater the pictures usually turn out. Snowflakes and snowmen are best made using white paste. You can put dots, dashes directly on top of the dried drawings, and draw details using gouache or watercolor.

It will also be interesting to use the paste using the spraying technique:

  • cut out a snowflake stencil;
  • glue it to the glass with masking tape;
  • soak your toothbrush in toothpaste;
  • run your finger over the bristles several times so that the splashes fly intensively onto the glass;
  • let the paste dry (you can use a hair dryer with a cold air stream);
  • peel off the template.

Drawings with stained glass paints

Only children's paints that transmit light well and are easily washed off are suitable. There are also special sets in boxes consisting of paints and film. The latter is glued to the glass, and a drawing is placed on top of it. It’s even easier to place a design under the film, draw it with paints, and then glue the finished product onto the window. This should be done after complete drying. It will be very easy to remove the finished stained glass from the glass.

Patterns on the window with a brush and sponge

Even children can work with a regular brush. For painting you will need a set of a wide flat brush and a thin brush for drawing details. They can be used using gouache, watercolor, honey paints, oil, toothpaste, in general, any material.

First, mix the colors together to get the desired shades. You can also use toothpaste with paints to draw deer, Santa Claus, balls, a Christmas tree and other New Year's drawings. Convenient to use stencils.
