Light autumn landscape in pencil. How to draw nature with a pencil step by step

This is the first lesson in the series about the seasons. I will tell you how to draw autumn with a pencil step by step. At first I couldn’t understand for a long time: what should be depicted in the autumn drawing?? What immediately comes to mind? That’s right: an alley with benches, and everything is orange and yellow, and the breeze is blowing, but it’s warm outside, and there’s still a piece of sky in the corner. And it could also be a forest, there are different animals there: gophers, . Less often people imagine a rainy autumn. It's getting closer to winter. But how can I draw autumn with simple pencils? After all, this is the whole point, to show how the flocks change color and fall, fly away migratory birds, even wandering along the edges of the fields. Maybe there will be talented artist who can convey all this through the play of light and shadow a simple pencil. And I decided to colorize my drawing! But first, as usual, there will be step by step instructions. Grab your pencils and let's get down to business.

How to draw autumn with a pencil step by step

Step one. Let's draw a sketch. The match man sits on a tree stump. Near it we will mark the body of the squirrel in circles. In the background we draw the shape of the trees and the bridge. I think there will be no difficulties with this; all children can draw such doodles. But let's move on!
Step two. Now let's outline the contours of the girl's body and her hairstyle. Let's add another hat. A squirrel sits nearby. Let's also outline the contours of her fluffy fur.
Step three. Now let's move on to detail. Let's mark the place where the girl's eyes and lips are located, and draw her fingers. Then a few more details of the dress. Next to it we will draw a bag with apples. And we'll give the squirrel another apple, she deserves it. In the background we will draw a path and a bridge over the river. And then we will draw the trunks and crowns of the trees.
Step four. Let's erase the auxiliary lines drawn in the previous steps. Let's outline the contours of the main objects more clearly.
Step five. Just a couple of little things left to add. Let's draw the girl's hairstyle, eyes and mouth. We detail the dress and shoes. We imitate leaves on the trees (I didn’t draw them in detail, you can do this yourself if you want). We depict the grass simply with strokes. We will do the same strokes, only less often on tree trunks and stumps, this will create a realistic effect. Don't forget about the squirrel too! And it should look like this:
Step six. Now let's move on to coloring. I drew everything in Photoshop, so I decorated it there too. I filmed the entire process. Who knows how to use graphic editors, can also decorate. I hope I've covered it in sufficient detail how to draw autumn, and now in class visual arts you can surprise everyone original drawing! I ended up with this autumn drawing: What is yours? Attach your work below in the comments. Try taking some more lessons like this.

I have long been fascinated by the Bob Ross school of painting. He created a quick technique for effective oil painting on canvas. And I believe that everyone can easily master it. But, for starters, we will use not oil, but artistic gouache. And instead of canvas, paper for watercolors. It is best to take A-3 format, but A-4 is also suitable.

We will carry out the work in stages. We draw with a dry brush, using only gouache.
We take a brush (size 15-16, bristles, flat or round) with blue paint and begin to cover the upper part of the sheet with it. We work from left to right, moving from top to bottom. As we move, there will be less and less paint on the brush and the color of our future sky will change less saturated. In the center of the sheet we leave two unpainted places. These will be clouds.

Now we need paint that is a tone darker or a slightly different tone. I added violet to my blue. Draw the horizon line with the resulting color and cover the sheet from there downwards, leaving a white spot in the center. This is our future lake. Don’t forget that the brush should be dry .After there is absolutely no paint left on the brush, we shade the horizon line so that the border becomes a smooth transition. We also pass the brush along the lake. Do not forget that we are working from left to right.

Now interesting point for beginner artists. Mountains are often painted using a palette knife. Not everyone has one, so we will use a kitchen knife. We draw mountains. For this we need black and blue paint. To get it, take a little black and add it to the blue. We put paint on the tip of a knife and try to draw mountains. They will consist of the most high peak in the center and lower ones at the edges. We draw with the entire flat surface of the knife. Let's try to draw gentle slopes for our mountains. Remove the excess paint with a knife.

Our mountains should dry out a little. Therefore, for now let's work on the clouds in the sky. Ideally, first draw the clouds, and then start drawing the mountains. But, as always, there is not enough time, so I do it faster and more practical for myself... So, the clouds. They will be soft pink. To do this, mix a drop of red gouache with white. With the resulting color, we begin to draw clouds in place of the white spots in the sky. I use bristles number 12. I work with the tip of the brush, poking. The brush is positioned in my hand at an angle of 90 degrees to the clouds. I explain this method to the children as “drip-drip-drip”. Not strokes, but point-to-point touches of the paper with a brush. Often, often, often. Now we need to draw the upper border of the clouds. It will be white. We paint on the brush white paint and drip-drip-drip along the upper border of the cloud, climbing onto the blue color. Let's imagine that there is not one cloud, but a group. Another cloud floats under the top one. Let's draw white and its upper border. There should be a lot of white paint on the brush so that it stood out well against the pink background. In this way we draw the clouds to the left and right of the mountains.... Well, while we were drawing the clouds, our mountains dried out slightly. Now for an equally interesting activity. We need to make them more voluminous. To do this, we’ll use a knife white paint and apply it to the right half of the mountains. It will be more illuminated. We will work from the middle of the mountain to the right edge. The paint will not lie evenly, it will mix slightly with the black background, but this is what we need. We draw from the top to the foot of the mountains Let's draw several white halves of the mountains, which will be located below the main peak, i.e. closer to you.

Now let's mix white paint with blue, we need a light blue color (not blue, darker). Using a thin brush (pony, squirrel, kolinsky, synthetic - 3 sizes) apply the resulting shade to the left side of the mountains. From the top along the slope, from the center to the left edge. You see how our mountains immediately changed, how voluminous they became.

Let's continue... Again, using dry bristles, the same one that painted the sky (we didn't wash it after the sky), using black paint we "paint" the spots on the left, right and in the center (below the mountains). We take the paints just a little at a time, so that the spots the result was black, translucent. And dry, this is important. When there is no black paint left on the brush, you need to draw one detail: with strong pressure on the brush, apply vertical, barely noticeable stripes across the lake. Longer in the center, shorter on the sides. This is a reflection of the mountains and bushes (which we haven't drawn yet) in the lake.

Let's move on to more cheerful tones. We will paint autumn foliage. For this we will need yellow, red, red gouache and a bristle brush of size 12-13. Let's start with yellow gouache. Drip-drip-drip over the black spots, this is foliage. Draw on the spot like would be islands. Just like in the clouds, we’ll walk along the tops of the trees with yellow paint.

Using brown paint and a thin brush (squirrel, pony, kolonka - 1-2 sizes) we draw tree trunks in the foreground. The trunks on the left side of the work are illuminated, so we highlight the illuminated areas of the trunk with white paint.

We will paint the foliage of these trees with yellow and red paints. Below the mountains, in place of the black spots, we will draw bushes. Tip: To make the foliage more realistic, dip the brush first in red, then in yellow paint and, without mixing them, let's start drawing the foliage: again, drip-drip-drip. It is very convenient to draw foliage on bushes and trees using a fan brush.

So that we can clearly see the perspective, we will draw a birch tree in the background. Since it is closer to us, it looks larger relative to other trees. First, a black trunk with branches, then apply white paint to the trunk with a knife. And finish the birch by painting it yellow foliage. You can spice up the picture with red paint, painting the leaves here and there.

Every child draws the drawing “Autumn” at least once in his life - in kindergarten or school, this topic is often present in the lessons of fine arts, the surrounding world and literary reading.

Few adults can remain indifferent to brightness and diversity autumn colors, and many of them want to show this palette to children by conducting a master class with step by step photos or step by step construction schematic drawing on a chalkboard.

Before you draw an autumn landscape, you need to select materials that will be used as the basis for the work. We suggest considering the option of a drawing made using watercolors and colored pencils on regular, but fairly thick, white paper (it is best to use sheets for watercolors or sketches).

Using a simple pencil, as usual, we make a sketch of the drawing - a sketch. Our composition will consist of several trees and a small village house. What makes it interesting is the presence of a hill, in the center of which we plant the main thing. Due to the hill, the horizon line, foreground and background look different.

Filling the autumn sky with color. Using watercolor pouring technique. This technique is used in cases where you need to get an uneven solid background.

Using the same method, we decorate the crown of the trees in the background. They will turn out blurry and will complement the main details of the picture.

Watercolor fill - background

In the same way, fill the grass and the bush line that is in the background with color. We make the bush darker than the grass. We highlight the tree near the house with a lighter tone of paint, thereby putting emphasis on the house. And it begins to attract attention, although it is located on one of the lines farther from the edge.

Watercolor Fill - Foreground

We work on large tree trunks, giving them volume using the play of light and shadow: we make one side of the trunk darker than the other. We designate the shadow that the trees and the house cast on the grass, and fill the path with color.

Watercolor painting - step 1

We highlight the bushes in the background with burgundy and red. We emphasize the descent in the central part of the picture with a dark color. We emphasize the relief of the tree trunk in the foreground, highlighting its right side with a darker color.

Watercolor painting - step 2

We draw bushes around the house and fill its windows with color. We emphasize the play of color in the tree crowns with right side paintings using warm autumn colors. We paint the foreground of the picture with the same warm colors.

Watercolor painting - step 3

We dry the picture well, after which we begin to work out the details with colored pencils: foliage, shrubs located in the distance. Please note that the closer to the edge of the picture the object is located, the brighter its details should be. The tree in the center - a key element of the landscape - should be as expressive as possible and worked out to the smallest detail. We draw birds flying away.

This painting will decorate any office or room.

We learned how to draw using watercolors and colored pencils, distributing landscape elements along spaced lines.

Drawing an autumn landscape step by step

Master class on drawing. Landscape-mood “Late Autumn”

Kokorina Elena Yurievna, fine arts teacher, Slavninskaya Secondary Municipal Educational Institution comprehensive school, Tver region, Torzhok district.

Purpose of work: master class on drawing is intended for children from 10 years old, fine arts teachers and educators additional education. The drawing can be used to participate in competitions, exhibitions, interior decoration or as a gift.

Target: making a landscape on the theme “Late Autumn”

Tasks:
develop the idea that through the selection of colors one can convey in a drawing certain weather and mood characteristic of rainy late autumn;
develop skills in wet toning of paper with watercolors;
cultivate interest in landscape painting and to the drawing process itself.

For work we will need: landscape sheet, watercolor, water glass, brushes of various thicknesses and hardness (squirrel or pony No. 4, No. 2; bristles No. 8), wax pencils.

It rains and rains. There are puddles everywhere
Streams pour onto the ground from the roofs.
Each day becomes cloudier and worse,
And from the acute autumn cold
You don't know where to find shelter.
All the rain and rain... the roses have faded,
The flowers are cold, they don’t bloom,
And there are only tears on the trees...
Another week - and frosts
They will come to us menacingly from the north.
(M. P. Chekhov)

Late fall. Many people consider this time boring, sad and sad. That's probably true. Usually during this period it rains endlessly, the sun hardly comes out, the birds don’t sing, the days look gray, and it starts to get dark earlier. The trees are already completely bare, the leaves have fallen off. The sky hangs low with gray clouds. But there are also very pleasant days in late autumn. Suddenly the rain stops and it gets a little warmer, and fog swirls above the ground. It's easy to breathe...

Today I propose to draw a landscape that conveys the mood of late autumn, which Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin told us about in his poems:
The days of late autumn are usually scolded,
But she’s sweet to me, dear reader,
Quiet beauty, shining humbly.
So unloved child in the family
I'm attracted to you...

For the drawing, take tinted cardboard in a gray-blue hue. Black wax pencil Let's draw the basis of our landscape.

Let's start with the tree. Let's draw the trunk and branches.

Let's outline the horizon line.

Let's draw a house.

There is a fence around the house.

Let's draw the details of the house: windows, roof.

Let's draw several large leaves on the tree branches.

We will also add a few leaves to the ground, and a small puddle in the foreground.

Let's draw clouds in the sky.

Stage two: watercolor paints paint over the drawing.
Let's start by filling the background. To get blurry tones, we use the technique of tinting the paper in a wet way.
I would like to remind you of the raw toning technique. Moisten a sheet of paper with water using broad strokes with a wide brush. Then by wet leaf We apply paint of the color we need and one that matches the given color scheme of the picture. We apply it so that the borders of the paint touch, even slightly overlap each other. So you can highlight the earth with one color, and the sky with another, and the boundary between them becomes blurred.
When drawing gloomy, rainy, cloudy weather, we will use gray, black, purple, brown, dark blue... a range of colors.
To fill the sky we will use purple watercolor, iron blue and ultramarine.

Paint over the tree trunk. To do this, we take black watercolor, natural umber and sepia.

Fill the bottom part of the drawing. For autumn withered grass we use natural umber and burnt sienna.

We paint the house. For the walls we use golden ocher and natural sienna; for the roof - dark red kraplak and sepia.

Let's draw the background. To do this, take a brush with stiff bristles and draw the trees using the “poke” method.

Using short strokes we set the texture of the blades of grass in the foreground.

Let's paint the leaves on the tree and grass with golden ocher.

Use black paint to shade the foliage of the trees and emphasize the texture of the trunk of the nearby tree.

For the puddle we will use the same paints as for the sky: violet watercolor, iron blue and ultramarine.

You can finish the drawing here, but I suggest third stage: draw the details of the drawing with wax pencils.
Use a black wax pencil to highlight the gray clouds.

Introduce black, dark blue and purple pencils at the top of the sky. We place the strokes horizontally, easily. Emphasizing rather than overpowering the texture of the paint.

Using a black pencil we highlight the trunk and branches of the tree.

Insert a dark green pencil into the grass.

Use a yellow pencil to highlight the shadows on the walls of the house.

Looking closely at the drawing, we see that there is not enough foliage on the tree. Therefore, we take a brush with stiff bristles and golden ocher and, using the “poke” method, apply paint to the crown of the tree and under the tree.

Now the work is finished, you can insert it into the frame.
