MHT schedule. The modern period of the Moscow Art Theatre. Chekhov

I was lucky to attend the premiere of the play "Scenes from Married Life" based on the work of I. Bergman, directed by A. S. Konchalovsky. I think most of the audience watched the 1979 film, but on stage we see the beginning of the 90s, when the time of sexual freedom and the revision of the values of family life came to our country.
Only two play: Julia Vysotskaya and Alexander Domogarov.
The plot is the same as in the film, consists of separate scenes, between which different periods of time pass. First, this is a happy family, where the spouses are satisfied with life and each other, then betrayal and divorce. In the process of these tragic events, we see that practically the former spouses still love and treat each other with tenderness, at the same time realizing how different they are and how many mistakes they made while living together.
For me, the main idea of “Scenes from a Married Life” was that when people disperse, they become more frank, they begin to better understand themselves and each other, and relationships that are no longer possible to maintain while living under the same roof are still quite possible if there is time from time.
Now about the pros and cons of the performance. Yes, unfortunately, there were also the second ones, but first about the good. Firstly, I want to note the excellent acting game. Julia was simply inimitable, so graceful, plastic, I just admired her, I didn’t even expect that she was such a good actress. On the whole, Alexander was no worse, although in the first act it would have been possible to talk less from another room, when he was not even visible on the stage.
Secondly, a successful video accompaniment, looking at which many memories come to life in memory. On the walls of the apartment, and then the office, they showed reports from the streets of cities where rallies and other events of perestroika took place, and well-known performers sang: DDT, Allergova, Kirkorov. Thirdly, interesting scenery. Cozy apartment with a balcony. I love it when the price is not just one room, but also a piece of the corridor where you can see the bathroom. And Julia often changed outfits, one better than the other, which adorned her even more.
And the biggest plus is an interesting reasoning that in the youth of the heroes there was a shortage of everything except time. But then the dollar came and they traded time for money.
There was only one minus, but for me a significant one - the clumsy action. Everything seems to be like in a movie, some dialogues are straight one to one, but it's not interesting to watch. At first I thought that I just didn’t understand something, because I was from a different generation, but no, my companion, who is 2 times older than me, had a similar opinion.
I also thought that serious changes were made to the plot, which is why it looks so strange, because I heard only rave reviews about the film, although I myself did not watch it before the performance. Therefore, yesterday I decided that I needed to master all the material and turned on the film. The first thought after watching was why our people were shown so unpleasant, because in the film there are two intellectuals who behave with dignity in any situations. When the performance is just beginning and the characters say that the wife is 35 and the husband is 42 and they have no children, you immediately understand that their family is so-so. While they are still living together, the heroine of Vysotskaya is feignedly happy, then becomes hysterical, but when her husband leaves, she seems to turn into a normal woman. The hero of Domogarov, on the contrary, turns from a normal man into an unpleasant type.
In general, the premiere left me with strange sensations. Perhaps, I can recommend the performance of A. S. Konchalovsky only to fans of Vysotskaya and Domogarov, and to those who are curious to compare the film with what happened on stage.

The main repertoire is diverse in genres and is presented from comedy to drama based on the works of M. Gorky, A.P. Chekhov, A.N. Ostrovsky, M.A. Bulgakov, W. Shakespeare, B. Shaw, as well as contemporary authors V. Rasputin, Yu. Polyakov, V. Malyagin. The theater managed to restore the performances of The Blue Bird by M. Maeterlinck and The Three Sisters by A.P. Chekhov according to the director's plan of V. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko.

A bit of history

Moscow Art Theater Chekhov - the famous drama theater of the capital, which was created at the end of the nineteenth century by the legendary theatrical figures Konstantin Sergeevich Stanislavsky, as well as Vladimir Ivanovich Nemirovich-Danchenko. It was their fateful meeting in a restaurant called "Slavic Bazaar" that laid the foundation for grandiose plans and ideas for the creation of a new advanced temple of Melpomene.

Since the beginning of the twentieth century, the theater has been located in a building located in Kamergersky Lane. Previously, it belonged to the Lianozovsky institution. At first, the art theater was called public, focused on the widest strata of the population. And over the course of several decades, the name was changed a couple more times.

"Tsar Fyodor Ioannovich" is the first performance that appeared on the playbill of the Public Art Theater. The director of most productions was Stanislavsky himself, who, touring with his team, gradually won the recognition of the public in many countries of the world. Many theatrical figures later tried to imitate the brilliant master of directing of our country in everything.

In 1919, the institution became academic, and from the 32nd year it became known as the Moscow Art Academic Theater named after M. Gorky. Thus, the theater has had the official name of the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater for ten years, by which all connoisseurs of theatrical art know it.

In 2001, Vladimir Mashkov's performance "No. 13" appeared in the repertoire with Yevgeny Mironov and Avangard Leontiev in the lead roles. The performance enjoyed unprecedented success until its closing. In 2014, Mashkov returned "No. 13" to the repertoire, the letter D was added to the title, and the actors changed in "No. 13D" itself.
