How to Draw Simple Cute Animals in Anime Style (with Video!)

Drawing realistically is difficult, but fortunately there are more gentle drawing styles. For example, in the anime style there are clear rules that can be used to draw anything.
In this tutorial, I'll show you how to draw five simple anime animals, and you'll learn how to create others using the same rules.
What you will need
Before we start, remember a few things:
- How smaller figure, the easier it is to save correct proportions. Draw all the animals on one sheet of paper; treat them more like little practice sketches than artistic images.
- The illustrations in this tutorial are clear and will show you what you should get, but your drawings don't have to be that perfect.
- Don't try to draw the shapes in one continuous line. Watch the video - it shows how I build shapes from curves, connecting them only when I get what I was trying to draw.
- The basis of each drawing should be drawn with thin pencil lines without strong pressure. This way the lines won't be visible when you finish the drawing with a dark outline. The video shows both stages of drawing.
1. How to draw a cute wolf
Watch the video first to understand correct technique drawing.
Step 1
Draw an oval - this will be the body. Remember: draw softly, without pressure. This is just a sketch!
Step 2
Let's add a head. It should be round and approximately twice the size of the body.
Step 3
Add legs. The front ones can be drawn with simple straight lines, and in place of the hind legs we draw only the lower part. Add simple "paws" at the end of each line.
Step 4
Add some volume to your legs. They should be quite plump.
Step 5
Let's move on to the thigh. Make it very round by attaching it directly to the back leg.
Step 6
Now we will draw a cute face for our wolf. Draw an oval muzzle to the bottom of the head. It needs to be much, much smaller than the head to give the impression of "cuteness".

Draw a wide smile across the muzzle.

Add an oval nose.

It's time to draw the eyes. Draw the lower part next to the muzzle.

Make the eyes big, but leave a wide space for the forehead - a large forehead will give a more youthful and cute look.

And now the tail. If you can draw it in one shape, go ahead. If not, here's a trick: start with a circle...

Now take a darker tool and finish the details. You can press harder this time, but be careful - these lines are final. You don't have to copy my drawing - just look at your sketch and add some wolf features to it. He will look cute no matter what!
2. How to draw a cute deer
Step 1
Start with the oval again. Remember that you need to draw very softly!
Step 2
Add a round head. It should be above the body, because we'll add the neck later.
Step 3
Draw the legs. They should be longer than the wolf's, but use the same rule: straight lines for the front legs, more short lines- for the rear ones.

And the mouth.

It's time to draw the eyes. Draw them again on both sides of the muzzle.

Because the legs are very long, we need to add some details to make them interesting. Add a circle to each leg - this is the outline of the joints.

Draw a line from each side of the circle to the hooves.

Finish the legs by also attaching these new pieces to the circles.

Add a sloping neck, making it an extension of the body.

Time to circle again! If your deer is a boy, draw him little horns. They should be as small and cute as the rest of the body.
3. Draw a cute roaring tiger

Again, start with the oval body - nothing new here.

Add a huge head like a wolf.

Add legs. As you can see, you can control the placement simply by adding these four lines.

The mouth is open, so place the oval muzzle somewhere in the middle, and its lower part at the bottom.

Add a pair of lips - one for each part of the mouth.

Add some characteristic features faces. Ordinary cute eyes will not work here, because... the tiger wants to look dangerous. Instead, draw them cutely closed.
